Man petting a lion ends up with a horrific injury on arm

0

No matter how tame the wild animals like big cats seem, they are still wild animals in their nature. Many of the world’s zoos or private enclosure and their videos make it seem as if these deadly predators are nothing but the cute oversized kittens. All of this has led to some people letting their guard down when around these big cats.

One of the life-threatening reminders that these big cats are not that cute or docile as many might think has happened to a 55 years old man named Pieter Nortje who lives in SA Truck Bodies in Bloemfontein. He was with his wife visiting the Tikwe River Lodge located in Virginia, South Africa as a part of their 10 years wedding anniversary.

A man got mauled by a lioness as he tried to pet it in South Africa.

Both Pieter and his wife were given a guided tour to the game lodge in South Africa.; Pieter decided that he needs to get close to the lions for petting them. When the 55 years old stuck his hand forward the fence and touched one of the felines, one lioness suddenly bit onto his arm and even started dragging him inside.

Prior to the accident, his wife was recording the moment which turned deadly. In the video, Pieter can be heard saying to lion, “If you bite me then I am going to bite you back”. The first lion responded well to the petting but in seconds the whole thing changed when the lioness came from behind and grabbed Pieter’s arm in her jaw.

According to reports, the teeth of lioness dug deep into Pieter’s flesh and near his bone. She held on to the arm for a couple of seconds. His wife then started to scream, it is biting, it is biting. The lioness then let go of the arm and Pieter was transferred to the Katleho Hospital located in Virginia. As per the latest reports, Pieter is suffering from a septic shock and his condition is serious.

Watch the video of the deadly attack down below.

Woman rescues a snake trapped in a beer can at the side of a road

0

Probably the person who threw a beer can at the side of a road in Florida did not know that it could cause some poor snake to be stuck inside it.

A woman named Rosa Fond, who is the worker of the HAU (Humans and Animals United), was on her way to home after rescuing two dogs from being euthanized.

She might have been thinking that her work that day was done but she could not be more wrong.

Fonda was driving when she came across a blue metal can on side of the road with something shiny slithering out of it.

She got to the can and found out that it was a Black Racer snake and its head was lodged deep side the can.

Fonda said, “The poor thing was trying his best to get out of the road”. Fonda knew that she could not leave the poor animal behind like this.

She was aware that it was not easy to convince the snake to wriggle out of the can.

To make things more troubling, she drew the attention of the dogs who were paying in the nearby park.  She told the dogs to stay back.

After that, she reassured the snake by saying, “you are OK. I am not going to hurt you.” Then she said to herself, “I cannot believe that I am doing this.”

Fonda first jitter the can and then with a stick nudged the snake out of it. As for the snake, it was getting agitated by the second and twice, it wrapped around Fonda’s arm.

Finally, the snake came out of the can successfully.

Fonda then stepped to the side to let the snake cool down as it was quite agitated from this trouble.

Fonda said, “The snake was really mad.”

As for Fonda, she picked up the beer can and took it as her rescue souvenir.

We have been saying that animals especially dogs are into sports. We have proven it with a string of videos. While some of them are interested in playing sports, others are good at carrying out other duties like fetching baseball bats at minor league baseball matches.

Meet Finn, he is not only a highly and adequately trained dog to retrieve the baseball bats but he is also a crowd favorite and a good boy.

He not only knows his job but also performs it well. That is until some spoilsport guy wants to make trouble in his abrogable work routine.

Last Tuesday, Finn was doing his job dutifully at a minor league baseball game played between the Las Vegas Aviators and the Sacramento River Cats. That is when a game official decided to make his job troublesome by being a spoilsport.

Just as Finn was about to reach the discarded baseball bat from the pitch, the umpire standing at the home plate stooped own a bit and picked it up before even Finn could reach it and tossed the bat away far from poor Finn’s reach.

Finn was devoid of his adorable duty and the crowd was also not happy at the umpire actions. The chorus of boos started emanating from all the directions which were clearly directed at the official.

This is the video of the moment when official picked up the bat threw it away from Finn.

No matter, which team the crowd sitting at the stadium was rooting for in the first place, in this matchup between Finn and the umpire, all of them were on the side of team Finn.

Despite having this uncalled for the setback, Finn still adhered to his duties and ran towards where the bat was thrown.  After all, he is a very good pup.

If you guys are wondering how Finn does things in any other baseball match, below is the video.

Now, this is more like it, Finn, good boy.

Keep up your good work Finn.

Nellie; The Hero Foster dog who saved her foster mom from a rattlesnake

Nellie was never called brave by anyone before in her life until a few weeks ago. Before that, Nellie was described with adjectives such as protective, shy or fearful.

However all of that changed for 5 years old Nellie, the Pitbull when she decided to save her foster mom Jane Taylor from a rattlesnake during their hike on the Texas state park.

Nellie was rescued by the Final Frontier Rescue Project when she was only 1 year old from a shelter in California. She, from there, went from one shelter to another and 6 months ago, she made her way to Taylor.

When Nellie reached her foster home, she was easily scared by loud noises and unfamiliar animals as well as people. She was also protective of her toys and was sacred when other people touched her. however, under the care of Taylor, she started to become normal.

Finally, one day back in March, she showed everyone as to how much she has really grown.

Taylor said, “We went hiking on a big rocky dome and on our way back to our car, we chose a way that was not normally used by hikers. I did not saw the rattlesnake but only heard its hissing. I stopped in my tracks and started screaming.”

Taylor added, “Nellie came running from behind and before I could do anything, she was on top the rattlesnake. It seemed like Nellie was saying to me in her own way, ‘don’t worry mom, I got this one.”.

The fight did not go on for long as Nellie was bitten on the face. A friend of Taylor came and threw their jacket on the snake and threw it far away from Nellie.

Nellie after being bitten refused to walk and was picked to the car by Taylor and her friend.

Taylor said, “I knew that I had to get her to the vet as soon as possible.”

Nellie was treated at the vet with 2 vials of antivenom and was given antibiotics were given for the wound. She was put to rest and thanks to a quick treatment she is now healing fast.

Now that Nellie is on her way to full recovery, she will be up for adoption to find her forever loving home.

Patrick Stewart Has A New Foster Dog And It Can’t Stop Smiling At Him

Majority of people are aware that Sir Patrick Stewart is renowned for his iconic roles for decades on TV, films, and stage. However many of those might not know that he is also a dog lover, he has played the most important roles of his life being a foster dad to a homeless pit bull dog.

That was back in 2017 and the name of that dog was Ginger who has now been adopted by a loving family.

However, Sir Patrick Stewart is now at his dog fostering again.

Earlier this month, Stewart wrote on his social media page, “Meet Emma, our new foster girl which we took from the Wags and Walks. She is not only sweet but very good. She is also sweet, gentle and intelligent and all of this in 38 pounds pocket pittie-mix love.”

In just a few days of being together, Emma and Stewart have bonded with each other so well. Recent footage of them shows them taking a nap on a couch. The footage also shows Emma who is unable to stop smiling while looking at Stewart who underneath his mask is snoring.

When Stewart had Ginger as a foster dog, their relationship became something legendary. The bond between them became so strong that many started to believe that Stewart would be a foster fail.

However, with Stewart spending time in the US and UK, and the new BSL (Breed Specific Legislation) made it impossible for him to bring Ginger to the UK with him.

Still, Stewart is fostering all that he can by giving another a place to stay as she waits for his new home.

Family Makes A Special Sling For Senior Cat To Pet Him At All Times

0

Meet Ricky, who is a 17 years old senior cat that is fond of getting attention and is also not shy to ask about it.

Luckily for this Siamese cat, his loving family is more than happy to give him all the love and care he asks for.

Ricky has his own good reasons for being such a demanding cat., he suffers from cat arthritis so getting frequent stroking helps him feel extra comfortable. This is why the demands of Ricky to be pet are not only left underscored but also with urgency.

Luckily for Ricky, his family has decided to get inventive in order to pet him all the time.

Ricky’s mom, Debbie Morse got a sling which was meant for a sprained arm but instead used it to carry Ricky.

Debbie’s daughter wrote, “Ricky follows my mom all around the house meowing until she stops doing whatever she is and strokes him. This is what she came up with to help Ricky with his constant stroking.”

But the real question here is that Is Ricky comfortable with this sling solution or not?

He is very well OK with this as his belly is always in close proximity with his mom for a belly stroke. As soon as his mom strokes her belly, he squints his eyes in self-satisfaction.

Felicity Morse further said, “With this sling which my mom invented, Ricky feels comfortable and less lonely. The warmth and the cuddles both help him greatly with his arthritis.”

For his whole life, Ricky has been the part of Morse family and he has gotten used to being pampered. They do literally everything for him, like bathing him weekly.

It is good to know that his family is aware that despite Ricky being so old, he should not be left behind on all the love and care.

Debbie Morse said, “he is so gentle and cute. He is worth his weight in gold.”

Meet Barsik; The Largest cat that shelter ever had

0

Literally, thousands of f cats have arrived at the ACC (Animal Care Center of NY) but they have never seen a cat as humongous as Barsik.

The staff was stunned to see the 5 years old Barsik who weighs an astonishing 41 pounds in weight. He was brought in with another pet cat named Suki last week.

According to a post on Barsik’s social media page, both of these cats found themselves to be homeless after their family decided to move and could no longer afford to have them.

The shelter found themselves unequipped to handle a cat like Barsik of such huge size. In order to house Barsik, staff had to improvise.

ACC wrote on their Facebook page, Barsik is an obese cat who needs a loving home that can help him around with his weight loss. He is not only too big for housing but also to rest in the office.”

Luckily for both Suki and Barsik another non-profit organization named Anjellicle Cats rescue decided to put both of these cats to a foster home. However, moving Barsik to a foster home was also a challenge.

Barsik’s foster mom, Angelique Luzzolino said that “the shelter had to look their entire building to find the biggest carrier they had to carry Barsik. Two workers helped me carry Barsik to the car. As for carrying him inside the house, I had to do it alone.”

Barsik, who was not all warming to her foster mother, tried to hide from her first. However, the 41 pounds weight cat was unable to squeeze in between the furniture.

Luzzolino said, “I feel really sad to see him when he grooms himself. He is not able to reach the back legs or the rear half of the body. In order to get his coat in better shape, we have started to brush him ourselves.”

Luzzolino is taking good care of Barsik with soft blankets for him to sleep on and Barsik’s favorite; plenty of tasty food.

Soon she will put Barsik on a strict weight loss program to help him get healthy for finding a forever home for him.

We have said again and again that animals and especially dogs are into sports very much. We have proven our claim with many video proofs and once again we have come with another proof. This time the dog in question is a racing enthusiast.

The race was taking place with only two competitors and these two competitors knew that out of both of them; only one would be finishing first. However, they could not be more wrong.

As it turned out a cute looking new challenger decided to participate in the racer and give both of these runners one hell of a race.

According to reports, this amazing and funny incident took place at the Chile’s National Athletics Competition which took place last year. The race was for 400 meter dash and as soon as the gun was fired to sound the start of the race and random happy dog decided to paper on the tack alongside the two runners. The dog was clearly eager to show off his fast speed.

Below is the footage of the unexpected race with an unexpected finishing result.

It is not clear as to where do this dog came from or as to how long has he been preparing for this event. One thing is still clear that he had overshadowed the performance of the other 2 sprinters.

Although the official record does not mention the dog to be the winner of the race, his fan base is surely aware as to who is the real winner of that day’s race.

Pensioner Thought He Was Going Mad Until He Catches A Mouse That Kept Cleaning His Shed On A Trail Cam

0

Stephen Mckears is a 72 years old man from England who one day started to question his own sanity when he began to notice that the things in his shed were moving from their place in night inside his tool shed. These things were also not being placed randomly. He was finding these things such as nails and clips being placed neatly inside the tub meant for these things.

However, the question was who was this phantom, which was so obsessed with keeping the things tidy and organized.

Mr. Mckears. Being amazed decided to uncover this mystery one and for all and emptied the tub of the nails and scattered them on the table. He was amazed to see that next day everything was once again placed neatly inside the tub. Something did not felt right about all this.

He sought out to his friend Rodney Holbrook and they set up a camera to catch this ghost. Mr. Holbrook is a wildlife photographer with expertise and had know how as to how to capture this mystery by a mysterious visitor. What they found in the trial cam footage was a small mouse who was lifting the things which were twice his own size and placing them in the tub in his effort to keep his ‘own house’ clean.

Mr. Mckears said, “Since then I have been calling him the Brexit Mouse because of his stockpiling habit.”

“One day I placed all the things in the tub on the table beside it and next morning everything was neatly in the tub again. I thought I was going mad.”

As for Mr. Holbrook, he was amazed at the mouse’s behavior and he has been calling it Metal Mickey. He said, “I was so amazed to see such a behavior from a mouse.”

We had to see it to believe as the mouse was chucking things back into the container.”

The mouse seems to go on his cleaning shift at around 2:30 am and has been performing his leaning duties for a whole month.

Mr. Mckears said, “He had been doing this for one month and he must have needed to go for sleep after doing it.”

Odin; The Rescue Dog Who Was Kept Chained Up His Entire Life Now Looks Totally Different

0

Meet Odin, who is a rescue dog that was rescued back in October from a group of breeders that had completely neglected his health along with several other neglected dogs. Odin was kept neglected with a chain around his neck. When his rescuers from the ‘Southern Pines Animal Shelter” picked him up; he was in very bad condition. They knew that he was to be sent to a vet and after that to a loving foster home.

https://www.instagram.com

When Sydney Schelkopf, Odin’s foster mom saw him, she could not believe what she saw. He was barely anything like the Alaskan Malamute that he was.

Sydney Schelkopf said to media, “Odin looked as if he had come from a nightmare. He was shriveled down to bones and his fur was gone. His body was covered in wounds and he had many broken and some cracked teeth. A putrid smell was originating from him and his skin had suffered from a horrible infection.”

https://www.instagram.com

After arriving at his foster home, Odin was confused and did not know what to do and how to act. It seemed as if he had never been allowed to be a dog.

https://www.instagram.com

His foster mom Sydney Schelkopf started showing him affection and Odin slowly came to understand that there was no catch to her affection and love. He was eternally grateful for her foster mom’s love and care.

https://www.instagram.com

At first Sydney Schelkopf was planning to foster Odin but by then Odin had already found himself a foster home. He was not leaving Sydney Schelkopf to go anywhere else.

https://www.instagram.com

After being adopted by Sydney Schelkopf, the next thing was Odin’s health. His health was in a mess when he first arrived at Sydney Schelkopf but with love, care, and proper treatment, his health began to transform for better.

https://www.instagram.com

He soon looked like the Alaskan Malamute dog he was truly meant to be.

https://www.instagram.com

His new family is still living their all to make Odin feel comfortable and son he will be as happy as any other dog.

Woman Sees A Stray Dog With Heavy Chain Around Her Neck On Highway and Stops Her Car to Rescue Her

0

A German Sheppard mix dog was standing on the edge of a four-lane highway. If the dog was to take even one step, she would have surely been hit by a car.

The scene was happening in Mission, Texas when this was noticed by a woman named Ashli Garza who seeing this slammed on her brakes hard.

https://www.facebook.com

Ashli Garza told media, “I was not sure what to do with her because there were so many stray dogs in the area that were treated poorly. I was going to take a picture and post it to a local lost and found dog page in our neighborhood. When I opened the door, she came to me on her own and I knew that she was friendly.”

The dog which was covered in mud when came close, Garza saw a huge rusty chain wrapped around her neck.

https://www.facebook.com

Garza said, “the chain was wrapped around her neck twice and I was surprised to see that fortunately, it had only caused her a bit of rubbing off on the skin. I was amazed to see as to how she was able to keep her head up.”

Garza was late for her friend’s wedding but knew she could not leave the dog on her own.

https://www.facebook.com

Garza said, “I was like, this dog is so muddy. I have the wedding dress of my fined in the car.”

However, Garza set her worries aside and took the dog in the back of her car. Garza tried to take off the chain but it was 20 pounds in weight and Garza could not do it.

https://www.facebook.com

Garza kept an eye on the dog out of care on her way to the wedding.

https://www.facebook.com

After dropping off the dress, Garza got to her friend’s house and they both took off the chain.

https://www.facebook.com

The dog was later kept as a foster dog by Garza’s friend Luz Grumman who named her Penelope. After that Garza got her to a rescue group and now she is living comfortably.

Garza hopes that the story of Penelope will encourage other people to help other stray dogs when they see them.
