Just Christmas Eve a staved ad emaciated dog was found on the streets of Blythe, Northumberland by the officers of Animal Welfare. This dog was found by its rescuers on the street where the poor dog had been dropped by its previous owners and it seemed as if they left him to die in a few hours. The condition of the dog was really bad. The dog was almost all skins and bones and its ribcage was easily visible at the first sight because there were no hairs for its fur and it weighed only about 11 kg which was half the weight of this dog. The dog, which was later named by its rescuers as Tiggy, was moved to the Berwick Animal Rescue Kennels (BARK) who took the poor stray dog in and they cared for her who might have been called Twiggy based on her previous appearance.
Everyone at the rescue shelter was afraid that she won’t make it to full health and would hardly last until Christmas but that skinny dog proved all of them wrong with her miraculous recovery. The credit to the full recovery of Tiggy goes to the manager of BARK whose name is Jan Ross.
This is the first time when Tiggy came to BARK.

Since Tiggy came to BARK, she was given special treatment. She was sent to live in a house because her condition was not suitable for her to be kept in a kennel. She looked as if she was already dead. Jan later told media about the thoughts that came to her mind after seeing the dog in those poor health conditions. She said the thoughts she had of her at the time were of shock, fear, horror, and relief which quickly turned to instant love that she felt on Tiggy’s spirit for fighting against all odds to live her life.
As for making speculations about the reasons that led to Tiggy’s condition as to what might have caused them, nobody seems to find a clue to that. At first, everyone thought that Tiggy was only ill but later it was found that her condition as caused due to the lack of the most basic canine treatment for food and parasites. As for BARK, they fed her generously which helped Tiggy to recover her heath with each passing day. In the recovery period of Tiggy, the local community also helped BARK immensely in the form of donations, their good wishes as well as moral support.”
This is the time when Tiggy was gaining back her strength to live once more.

Ever since BARK released the story about Tiggy, all the media outlets in the region, as well as internet users, started covering the story extensively. The story even got published in newspapers as well as on internet magazines and TV shows. The story even went on to catch the eyes of the City Council of Northumberland and its local community who then made the public appeal to residents for finding the culprits or to give any clues or evidence as to why Tiggy was left in such horrible conditions.
In the official letter of the Council, it was written, “This is a shocking and inexcusable case of neglect and we are very keen to get to the bottom of how she came to be in such an emaciated condition and bring the person(s) responsible to account. Tiggy is in great condition now but this could happen to another animal if those responsible are not brought to justice.”

This is the time when Tiggy finally started to make some recovery in her new home.

Currently, Tiggy is one her way to full recovery as her new caretaker Jan assured the public, “She is doing just fine. When she arrived only a few days ago, she was only a little bit over 39 lbs. now she is gaining weight little by little mostly in the form of muscles and it will be no time that she will once more have safe body weight. When she first arrived here, she would not be willing to go outside at all but little by little she started to trust people again. She started by coming out in the garden and nowadays she love to have races in going out if the weather is really nice. Sometimes we have to call her back in.”
Jan further says, “However if there is but one drop of rain outside, she won’t go out at all. She is kind of a diva in that regard. She now loves taking long walks on the beach, playing with all the exercises that she undertakes at the kennels. Although she has been given many of the donation dog toys, she still loves to prefer a beat don tennis ball.”

Now there is some more great news as to what will happen next to Tiggy. She is now scheduled for getting a new forever home. Jan says, “She is already adopted where she will enjoy the company of 2 other dogs who are also rescued dogs. We hope that it will happen by the end of this January. And as she waits for that day to arrive, she is not complaining about the treatment that she gets now. Tiggy received donations in the form of food, toys, collars, coats, jumpers, and treats. She now owns a wardrobe filled with clothes that all the women dream of. We only wish the very best for Tiggy up ahead in her life. We hope that this will be the start of her new and bright life.”
