Video Shows A Brave Man Rush For Saving A Dog’s Life Whose Leash Got Trapped In the Elevator’s door

As a man named Johnny Mathis was returning back to his apartment building, he had no idea that fate would call for him to be a hero and save an innocent life.

Thanks to the heroics of Johnny Mathis, that was exactly what happened.

Mathis said to the media, “It just happened really quickly.”

Only a few seconds of stepping out of the elevator from the garage to the first floor where Mathis apparently lived, Mathis noticed that some new neighbor was waiting at the elevator to enter with her pet dog which was on a leash. As he moved ahead, something really devastating happened.

The neighbor had apparently stepped inside the elevator without ever relaxing that the dog had not followed her inside. And then the doors closed causing the dog to be trapped outside as it was still on its leash.

Mathis said, “I just saw the entire thing happen at the last second. I said, ‘Hey, your dog! But by then it was already a little bit too late.”

The elevator soon started to rise but Mathis also went into action quickly as he unbuckled the collar of the dog’s leash only a few moments before the really tragic accident could happen.

Watch the video of that moment of Heroics from Mathis below.

The dog had been saved without realizing how close it came to death.

Mathis said, “The entire time, I could hear the screams of the owner. And when she finally was back down, she had her eyes bawling out.  She was really very shaken up. She then hugged me. She was really thankful.”

Mathis said that there was already someone inside the elevator and the owner of dg had little time to think if the dog was inside the elevator or not. Fortunately, her new neighbor had helped her and her dog.

Mathis said, “She loves her dog very much. It’s just one of those things where things happen in only 1 second. I am really thankful that I did not freeze up and reacted in the best and fastest way possible to save the dog’s life. Dogs are like family so I know what it means.”
