The reason he presented was that like many of the previous mayors, his cat also sleeps all day and does almost nothing and this makes him a suitable candidate for being a mayor. Morris got about 12000 open votes in ballot and made it to fourth place out of 11 other candidates.

Pa Kettle:-

An unincorporated community in the Divide, Colorado, and each year chooses animals as mayor only for ceremonial purpose. Local animal shelters organize these elections with each vote raising 1 dollar for benefit of animals. In 2014’s ceremonial election of Divide, a search and rescue dog named Pa Kettle won the election beating other candidates like a wolf, horse, donkey, cat, hedgehog and five other dogs and raised almost 10000 dollars. His record was beaten by a wolf named Shunka in 21016’s election when the election raised about 38000 dollars.

Crawfish B. Crawfish:-

In 2015, a crawfish stood against the governor of Louisiana, Bobby Gindel in the elections. This crawfish not only submitted his statement of candidacy to Federal Election Commission but also had a birth form if need be. Sadly being a crustacean, this crawfish’s political career didn’t advanced much further.

Stubbs:-

Stubbs is the longest living animal mayor of the Talkeetna, Alaska. He has been their mayor since 1997. He is named Stubbs because he has no tail. Stubbs was nominated for election because the people of Talkeetna were fed up with their human mayors for a long time. Stubbs is not a great mayor by not raising any taxes for local businesses but also attracts a lot of tourist attraction benefiting the economy of Talkeetna.

Tiao:-

Rio de Janeiro’s  mayor in 1980 was not that popular among both humans and animals. When the mayor visited the Rio’s local Zoo, a chimpanzee named Tiao begin to hurl feces at him. It was repeated on several occasions and mayor was the only target.

In 1988 at the time of next election cap gin the “Brazilian banana Party” named Tiao as their candidate and Tiao went on to receive about 400,000 votes which got him third position out of 11 other candidates. Tiao also has the Guinness world record for “being The Chimpanzee and to receive most vote in a Political Campaign”. Sadly Tiao passed away at the age of 33 years old in 1996.

Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) or mad cow disease is a disease normally occurring in cattle that results in holes in their brains caused either by pathogenic proteins or prion. This results to aggressive behavior in cattle along with problem in basic nail coordination and ultimately which can lead to death. Many of the researchers have theorized that this disease originated when the cattle that are vegetarian by nature are fed the meat of other dead cattle or small livestock like sheep.

BSE has also been linked with a major human disease called Variant Creutzfeldt Jakob (vCJD) that is a terrible neurological disorder. This disorder can present symptoms like dementia, memory loss, hallucinations, lack of coordination, loss of balance and ultimately death. Patients with early onset of symptoms have only few months to live after.

Pigeons Slow Confirmation of Big Bang:-

In 1964, physicist Robert Wilson and Arno Penzias were trying to measure brightness of the sky with a microwave detector but they kept getting a buzzing signal. On investigation they discovered a nest of pigeon on their equipment which they sent to pigeon fancier 48 kilometers away from their research lab. After cleaning when they started again they again picked up the weird interference signal and found that birds have returned. Their battle remained for several months and the signal persisted throughout this time. Birds were finally removed but signal remained and that signal was not a mistake by pigeons but instead a “background Microwave Radiation” an essential part of Big Bang Theory for which the physicist won the Nobel Prize.

Jellyfish Close Down Nuclear Plants:-

Nuclear plants are normally built near the large bodies of water like oceans. In 2013, one Swedish Power Plant got shut down due to unforeseen circumstances. Upon investigation it was found that the Inlet Pipes were blocked by a swarm of Jellyfishes. Jellyfishes were removed in order to restart the plant.

Guzman family visits the grave every Sunday and also to check upon Captain. Yes the dog has never left his master’s grave for even a single day and refused to leave it. He was once taken by force but ran away to return back to his master’s grave. Captain wanders around the site for the day but lies down by the grave 6 P.M. sharp every day waiting for is master’s return.

Gelert:-

A 13th century legend about the Prince of Great Wales, Prince Llewellyn had a dog named Gelert which was his most favorite of all hunting dogs. One day prince went to hunt laving behind his favorite dog and upon return he found this dog to be covered in blood. Prince seemed alarmed thinking about his young child he left home in cradle and thinking of the worst drew his sword and killed his dog. On returning to room, Prince found his infant baby under the turned over cradle and a dead huge wolf that Gelert killed while saving his master’s son. Prince in his regret could only offer a public funeral for Gelert.

Fido:-

Fido meaning the “Faithful” was an Italian dog who was adopted by Carlo Soriani back in 1941. Fido staying true to his name followed his master everywhere and stayed in wait until his master returned home from work.

In 1943, Soriani was killed in world war’s 2 bombing inside his factory. Fido went to bus stop where his master would arrive each day and waited but he never came. Fido went back home to Soriani’s widow but for the next 14 long years, Fido regularly went back to Bus Stop in wait for his master to return. Fido was awarded by town with a Gold Medal and a statue after his death for his undying faithfulness to his owner.

Hachiko:-

A professor of Agriculture named Hidesaburo Ueno, who always wanted to adopt a rare Akita dog, adopted one back in 1924. The dog was named as Hachiko who followed his master everywhere and would wait for his master’s return at the train station from where he left to work.

After one year, Ueno died during his lecture and Hachiko since that day waited for the return of his owner since that day. People soon noticed the dog and world even leave food and water for dog. His extreme devotion and faithfulness was praised by Japanese public and a statue of Hachiko was unveiled in 1934.

Hachiko died in 1935 and his death was mourned by people very much. Photos are still on internet people sadly lying around Hachiko’s dead body. Hachiko’s body is stuffed and is on display at the national Museum of Nature and Science in Tokyo.

After gaining health back Tom started to hang around the house of his own accord. Jonathan and Linda fall in love with this turkey but their neighbor hated the guts of Tom as he was the worst turkey bird ever.

Tom would regularly attack other people. He would often trap his victims in their cars and roamed around their vehicles, daring them to step out. In worst cases he would gather a mob of mad turkey and acting as their boss, they would surround unsuspecting people and attack hem. One neighbor complained to police and when police men arrived, Tom instead of being afraid attacked the cops. One cop jumped on his car while the other one took out his pistol and shot the turkey dead.

The Battle of the Backyard Cranes:-

An elderly woman at Florida, had bird feeders on her property. A flock of cranes discovered this place and mode themselves at home in Mrs. Gibbs backyard. Mrs. Gibbs husband had Alzheimer’s disease at that time and was not bothered by world. Whenever these majestic cranes came into their backyard and started their battle, his mind would come back a little and he would often seen smiling and excited.

The Anger Management Parrot:-

Jim Eggers suffered from bipolar disorder along with psychotic tendencies. Jim threatened to kill the local Archbishop in the days of Catholic Church’s sex scandal.

Jim, in the same year of 2005 when he threatened archbishop, rescued an African Gray parrot named Sadie. Jim being a huge animal lover not only rescued but also treated the parrot that was in bad shape and near to death.

Jim during his bouts of anger would often walk about his apartment floors saying “Calm down Jim, its okay Jim, You’re all right Jim”. Sadie picked up on these words and also started squawking them. To Jim Sadie’s words felt soothing and soon all the time when Jim is in anger Sadie who is right beside him would start squawking “its okay Jim”.

The Real Birdman of Alcatraz:-

Robert Stroud was known as the Birdman of Alcatraz. Stroud was in for a murder. In 1916 he murdered a guard with a shank and was sentenced to a life sentence without a parole. One day while exercising, Stroud found an injured sparrow and nursed it back to health. Officials finally happy that he got a new hobby instead of stabbing other people agreed to his request of opening a bird ab. Stroud not only sated his own bird business but also published a book called Digest of the Diseases of the Birds with cures and illustrations as well.

This species is nicknamed as the “Walking Shark”. The creature is 71 centimeters in length and it has fins that help it to move about on the ocean floor.

For walking about on surface o ocean these Walking Sharks, wriggle their bodes with help of their pectoral and pelvic fins. The shark has dark brown spots on its skin which allows it to camouflage itself with the bottom of oceans as well as the rocks on the ocean floor.

Myloplus Zorroi:-

This species of the flesh eating piranha was discovered back in 2007 in the waters of Amazon River’s tributary.

Unlike most piranha species, this species do not eat flesh instead it feeds on seeds, fruits and other types of vegetation. Their teeth have evolved to grind seeds. Their skin is reddish in color with belly and fins being yellow. They can grow up to 18 inches in length and are able to move with extreme speeds in raging river waters.

Blackfish:-

This fish is extremely bizarre in appearance as it does not have any scales on its miniature sized body but its skin is so pitch black that it looks like an oil slick. The species was discovered in the coast of Australia near the ancient volcanoes. Scientists are surprised that despite its miniature size, it has disproportionate large jaws and teeth.

Fish is only as big as a human index finger and there is a possibility that its tail can cause a massive sting.

Keesingia Gigas and Malo Bella:-

These are the names of two recently discovered species of venomous jellyfish.

Keesingia Gigas was found near the northern coastal area of Australia. Their stinging cells are attached to their tentacles which they use to catch prey as well. This jellyfish is on average of 20 inches in height.

Mallo Bella another spices of jellyfish is usually 0.7 inches in height. This particular jellyfish is beautiful in appearance and was found first in the waters of the Australia’s Pilbara region at the Montebello Islands. The species belong to the Malo genus of jellyfishes and hence its relation to the particular genus indicates that it carries nasty toxic venom.

Illacme Tobini:-

This is a rather new species of millipede found in the caves of the Sequoia National Park located in California. Its body has been dissected into following parts.

• 414 legs
• 200 poison glands
• 100 body segments
• Hairs secreting silk
• Four penises

The millipede species have strange mouth parts with functions that are still a mystery to be solved.

They are being made extinct by a process called “Planned Extinction” some of these animals that scientist are deliberately driving to extinction are as follows.

Mosquitoes:-

Mosquitoes are the primary cause for the Malaria which has ravaged the earth since ancient times.  Scientist have been considering the idea that to eradicate a dangerous disease its source must be cut off completely and in this case to eradicate malaria, eliminate the mosquitoes.

Scientists over at the Oxford University are developing a strain called A. Gambiae that will cause the females mosquitoes to have gene that will eventually turn them infertile over the course of several generations.

The idea for this strain’s development is still under work.

Guinea Worm:-

This particular parasitic worm’s larvae enter the bodies of their host humans via drinking water from rivers, lakes and ponds and upon entering in digestive system can cause horrifying disease.

Inside digestive system, male and female larva passes through thin intestinal lines and mate. Males die but female move up to the position under the skin mostly in the region of lower legs. There they can grow up to 30 inches in length.

After one year, female comes out of the skin inch by inch causing immense pain which leads to people often taking bath in open water and an opportunity for female to release millions of eggs again.

Since 1980’s WHO (World Health Organization) due to the atrocities of this organism, started their efforts to eradicate Guinea Worm from face of the earth. Their efforts have been somewhat fulfilled as there had been only 27 reported cases in the previous year of 2017.

New World Screwworm:-

New World Screwworms are the larval form of a certain fly species. The species lays its eggs into the open wounds of the warm blooded hosts including humans as well. After eggs hatch the larvae burrow deep inside the flesh of host causing open sore lesions.

In 1972, Mexico and USA with combined effort used technique to castrate and make male flies of the species sterile by dosing them off in radiation inside a lab. They were then released back into wild where they mated but were unable to reproduce. This caused their sudden decline in population.

Although significant decrease in their population has occur but still they are not completely extinct as a case of New World Screwworms was reported in 2016 attack on deer population at Florida Keys.

Pubic Lice:-

Pubic lice are related to head lice and mainly depend upon human hosts. As the name suggest they are usually found in the armpits and pubic areas. They usually transmit to one another due to sexual intercourse that leads to their infestations.

In the past few years, there has been a massive decrease in their population and infestation cases. Scientists theorized that as a result of more people opting to shaving and waxing off their pubic hairs, the chances of their transmission and henceforth their infestations has decreased exponentially.

Takahe:-

Takahe is flightless bird that is found living in South Islands of New Zealand. The last four specimens of this bird were found back in 1898 ad after that it was reportedly gone extinct. However back in 1948 some of its specimens were rediscovered near the Lake Te Anau. The bird is still under the threat of extinction but not completely extinct as are the rumors.

Mountain Pygmy Possum:-

Mountain Pygmy Possum was only described as a fossil back in 1896 but the species was discovered alive on Mount Hotham, Australia back in 1966. T was discovered by some tourist while on a ski hunt. The natural living environment of this possum is inside alpine rocks and boulders due to its small mouse like size. Females live on top of mountains while male inhabit in the lower regions. For mating, males have o travel to the females on top of mountains. Due to them being exposed to life threatening danger during this mating ritual, to ensure their safety government of Australia built them a tunnel beneath the road and named it as Tunnel of Love.

Bermuda Petrel:-

Bermuda Petrel was thought to have gone extinct 330 years ago. It is a nocturnal and a ground nesting sea bird. This bird is also the national bird of Bermuda. Fortunately in 1951, 18 living pairs of this bird were found. The reason for their extinction was thought to be when English settled in Bermuda and introduced the region with cats, dogs and rats.

The Coelacanth:-

This is undoubtedly the most amazing rediscovery of an animal species on our list. The name of this rediscovered species is Coelacanth which was presumed extinct since the end of Cretaceous Period. The species was found in several of African Nation in 1938. Thus it was given the title of Lazarus Taxon meaning an organism that once from fossil record came back o life. They normally inhabit on the ocean floor but reportedly have been seen near the ocean’s surface. They can grow up to 15 feet in length

Koko is one of the most widely studied primates in human history due to her amazing ability to understand language. Koko is able to use American Sign Language and she also has made some new words based on her own knowledge of signs.

In 1984, Koko asked her handlers if she is allowed to keep a pet. She was given a cat which she named as All Ball and cared for her like a baby gorilla and even felt pain when cat was taken away from her. Unfortunately All Ball died in a car accident and Koko mourned All Ball’s death by forming signs of sad and frown to show her feelings. Since then she has been given many pets.

Elephant and sheep:-

Themba the elephant’s mother was killed when he was just a calf; rangers rescued him and for time being to protect him from harms of wild, placed him in a pen house. Being a social animals, rangers placed a sheep called Albert of companionship of Themba. At first Themba chased the sheep around for my days but gradually they formed a bond of friendship and were even seen sleeping together at night. Before Themba could be released into wild he died after developing an intestinal disease.

Deer and goose:-

At the Forest Lawn Cemetery located in Buffalo back in 2011 a strange partnership was found between a goose and a deer. A goose came and lid eggs in an urn and sat there to incubate them. Deer took it upon itself to protect the goose as its guard. Whenever anyone came near goose be it other birds, animals or even humans she would protectively ward them off. The partnership remained for three weeks until goslings hatched and after wards deer wandered off back in the forest.

Tiger, bear, and lion:-

This particular friendship took place when a lion, bear and a tiger were rescued by police form a drug lord’s house. They were found as cubs and were moved to an animal sanctuary in Atlanta. These three animals are known for their excessive aggressive nature but after being grown into adults they can still be seen playing with each other and even sleep together in same wooden shelter at night.

Orangutan and dog:-

Orangutan named Suriya and dog named Roscoe were both raised in an animal sanctuary located in South Carolina. Roscoe was potted in the shelter by Suriya while he was wandering and keepers allowed Roscoe to be in the shelter and even let him spend time with Suriya.

After few months they become bosom friends as Suriya now takes Roscoe for long walks and also swims with him within the enclosure. They have also ridden on the back of an elephant and their keepers took pictures of his memorable moment.
