A cute and kind Duck Returns A Boy’s Flip-Flop After It Fell Down The Hill

Sometimes animals surprise us with their human-like behaviour such as the loyalty sometimes shown by dogs, cats or even horses. Some of them even do kind things like returning stuff. You guys must remember that Beluga Whale from a while ago that dove right back in the sea to grab the phone of a spectating girl who had mistakenly dropped it and then thee whale brought it back and gave it to her.

Well, an incident of the same nature occurred in a small town in the Philippines. It might not be that important like having your phone returned to you after being certain you might never see it again, it still was a sight for the sore eyes.

This is the story told by the eyes of a woman named Maya Aguila who, one day, was walking in a village where her home was, somewhere in the Philippines when suddenly her eyes caught something really cute and curious.

Funny Duck

myla.aguila

On the top of a small hill was sitting a boy in squatting position and he apparently had encountered a problem. As it happens to be, the little boy had lost one of his flip flop slippers that had fallen down the hill’s dirt slope and was now out of the little boy’s reach.

While the boy could have easily managed to climb down the slope to retrieve the flip flop slipper, someone else was there to help him. And that someone was a thoughtful duck who retrieved that flip flop slipper for the boy.

This is the video of that moment.

Aguila was unable to believe what she was seeing as was the case for a small crowd standing there.  The bird really did a kind solid for that little boy.

Aguila writes on her social media account, “I was really dumbfounded to see this.  The duck was really kind.  He really helped that little boy even though he did not know that child.”

She adds, “There is a feeling like a person helping another person here. I will feel mercy on them because of what I had seen.”

A Rescued King Penguin’s Family Taught It How To Buy Fish From Fish Market On Its Own

People across the globe find the penguins to be the most adorable animal and one Japanese family got the chance to keep one as their house pet. This was such a rare case because that penguin was adopted by the family as a pet back in the 90s and the reporters were trying their best to get an interview with the penguin family. One media channel “Real TV” imaged to make a TV documentary on the pet King Penguin and his family. The name of that penguin was Lala and he lived with his family in a small village in Japan.

This is Lala a cute looking King penguin that lived with a Japanese family as their pet for many years.

youtube

This documentary about Lala was made back in 1996 when he was only 10 years old. Back in those days, this King Penguin spent his days living with the family in their air-conditioned room and he also roamed around the town’s streets.

youtube

After he was brought to market one day by his family, Lala wanted to keep going back. So then family came up with the idea to put on a little backpack on his back and then taught the King Penguin how to go and buy the fish he loves so much from the fish market on its own.

For villagers that was quite a sight as they saw a King Penguin wearing a small backpack and then going to the market to buy fish.

All of you might be wondering by now as to how the family came upon a pet like King Penguin.

Well as it happens to be the poor Lala was caught in a fishing net and was badly injured.  The family then took the King Penguin back home and helped him back to full recovery.

However, by that time of recovery, Lala had grown attached to the family too much and did not want to leave them. So the family decided to keep Lala as their pet and made sure to provide him with the best possible living environment. Sadly Lala passed away after a few years but the story about a funny-looking King Penguin that went to by fish from the market on its own still lives on to this day.

Cat Is Frustrated Because She Is Unable To Knock Down The Strange ‘Tree’

Meet Pepper who has always was known by her mother to be a very playful kitty and she has a habit of turning anything into her personal toy or a game. This is the reason that her mother Mikaela O’Neill found it difficult over the years to complete the holiday decorations.

Mikaela O’Neill says, “Pepper loves jumping high and she would jump onto anything that she thinks she can get on to. This means for the family to not have any ornaments on the high shelves and definitely not on the Christmas Trees.”

Mikaela O’Neill

But O’Neill still wanted to have a way where she was able to decorate the house in the festive manner ad this is when she came upon a tapestry with Christmas tree which she thought to be a perfect solution for Pepper’s urge to ruin everything. At first, the tapestry on the wall was admired for a bit by Pepper from afar but then she realized that this was also something that she can play with.

Mikaela O’Neill

O’Neill said, “2 Christmases has passed since I got this tapestry and Pepper knows that this is a great game.”

Pepper now spends the holiday season entirely while examining this unique looking Christmas tree.

Mikaela O’Neill

And also, of course, playing with it.

Mikaela O’Neill

She also tries to knock this Christmas tree down but to no avail.

Mikaela O’Neill

She is always unsuccessful in her attempts to knock down this tapestry of the Christmas tree but even sometimes she succeeds doing it with a little help from her brother.

O’Neill said, “I also won another pet cat named Soda Pop who also loves playing with Pepper on this tapestry. He mostly likes to play from behind the canvas. Last year I fixed this tapestry onto the wall in a different manner and they were still able to knock it down several times. For this year, they are still not as successful as I have come up with a new way of hanging it.”

Still, no tree seems to be safe from the naughty antics of Pepper, not even the ones that are just a picture hanging on the wall.

This Is How Holland Became the World’s First Country Without Any Street Dogs

How great would this sound, a world where there would be no stray dog? Well, there is actually one country in the world that has managed to achieve this amazing feat and it is Holland. Holland took the lead in this great initiative and saved the stray dogs all across the country by giving each stray dog home. The government of Holland has actually changed the lives of these stray dogs altogether as they are now living a life full of love and happiness.

The government of Holland achieved this massive mark by implementing the method called PSVIR (pick, sterilize, vaccinate, identify, and return). Thanks to this method, Holland became the first-ever country in the world to free these stray dogs from fears of street terrors and loneliness. Everyone who loves animals and especially stray dogs, want this method to be implemented all across the world.

We also support these great measures for the betterment of innocent animal life and today wish to share the details of the method that Holland adopted to free the country from stray dogs.

Once the streets were filled with dogs

Since the 19th century, the country of Holland was suffering from a massive population of dogs. Almost every family in the country had at least one pet dog as these dogs were at the time considered to be a symbol for the social status of a person. However, unfortunately, a large number of dog-population in the country led to an outbreak of rabies which then turned out to be the largest and the leading cause of death in the country for both animals and humans. Fear set among people resulted in families with pet dogs to start abandoning them. The action of abandoning the pet at that time was deemed legal and this led to the streets of Holland to be filled with all kinds of dog breeds and they were now all strays.

Government-provided free of cost Female Dog Sterilization

The streets started filling with dogs was not a solution as the problem became out of control and that was when the government stepped in with their method.  They aimed to change these dire circumstances and did so by starting specific days during which castration of male dogs and sterilization of females was made mandatory. However, these sterilization days were all free of cost and the expenses were covered entirely by the government. The method worked and nearly 70 percent of the female dog population in the country was successfully sterilized. Each dog is also put through medical exams for verifying as to what vaccines or other medical services they might need.

The government placed laws against abandonment of pets

Continuing their sterilization project, the government still wanted more control over this situation and wanted to eradicate the problem of stray dogs altogether., for this purpose, the government passed one particular law for protecting animals and then one more law for the welfare and health of animals. These 2 new legislations were to encourage the dog owners to provide their pets with necessary treatment and also for eliminating the pet abuse.

If any dog owner did not follow these 2 laws, then the penalty for this was punishment by imprisonment for 3 years along with a minimum fine of 16000 dollars.

Implemented High Taxes upon purchases of breeding dogs

Most of the people who prefer to have the dog as a pet usually go with choices of either buying or adopting a high breed of dogs. The reason was simply that high breeding dogs were healthier and more beautiful as compared to non-breeding dogs. To resolve this problem of limited adoption of non-breeding dogs, the government took the step of raising the taxes upon purchase of a dog from a pet store. This led to an added expense in buying a dog and the potential new pet owners were forced to look for other ways of adopting dogs and this led to a sudden increase in the adoption of stray dogs.

Started Awareness campaigns

While the state did issue laws to prevent any abuse to the dogs, they also did work to educate the populace to understand the plight of these stray dogs. For this cause, they started many awareness campaigns and the effects started showing little by little. People started showing signs that they do want to take care of the little homeless puppies. This slow progress turned into genuine love and soon the population of over 1 million of the stray dogs in the country’s streets vanished and found warm and loving forever homes that were safer. The awareness campaigns were the most influential of all the steps taken by the government for stray pets. These campaigns led to 90 percent of the country’s population to adopt stray dogs.

Lastly, started a new job “Animal Cops”

Sure there were many adversities in all the steps taken by the Dutch government but it worked through it all to success. Following the success of their method, they transferred their job to a special division named “Animal Cops” back in 2011. They were a group of real policemen who were made in-charge to protect and safeguard the dogs against possible abuse and distress. With the success of this whole initiative by the government, the Netherlands is now the only country in the world to have dogs in nearly every house. It is also the only country in the world that allows dogs in its restaurants, stores, and all other establishments.

Mistakes Every Cat Owner Should Avoid

Secret Of Cats Loving Boxes, It Reduce Stress

Mistakes Every Cat Owner Should Avoid

It might seem easy to have a cat as a pet but it can be a difficult task to take care of these feline cuties. Sometimes their taking care of can be so difficult that even the best and experienced cat owners can make grave mistakes. Whenever a cat owner does some crucial mistake in taking care of their cat, they make their cats go through serious discomfort and this can lead to negotiate changes in their behavior.

Today we have come upon some common mistakes that most cat owners make whilst taking care of their cats. We want our readers, who have cats for pets or planning to have one soon, to take a read of these mistakes every cat owner should avoid.

To not spay or neuter the cat

Spying or entering a pet cat is a very positive thing for a cat’s health and can even impact to make the overall health great. The spaying and neutering procedures can lower the risk of the creation of mammary tumors in female cats and the formation of testicular tumors in male cats.

Another positive aspect of neutering a cat falls on their behavior, as this makes them less prone to being aggressive or from running away from their homes.

Bathing the cat

Cats are not the only pets that get nervous when they are bathed, even dogs can sometimes become very nervous. The thing is that the cats do not at all need to be washed because they actually clean themselves on a regular basis. I case a pet cat gets dirty, then it is better to clean it with a wet piece of cloth by softly rubbing any dirt or strain marks rather than shoving them under the running tap of water or plunging them in the bathtub filled with water.

As for more extreme cases when the cats get dirty, it is better to wash only the parts that are dirty instead of splashing water on their whole body. Sometimes washing them with water can lead to negative changes in their behavior.

Feeding only dry foods to cats

One thing every cat owner or as a matter of fact any pet owner should remember is that Dry food is only a snack and is not something that can satiate the hunger of your pet. The food menu of your cat should be consistent with some wet food and it is recommended that this food must be given to the cat a few times each day. Still, this does not mean that you should not feed your cat the dry food at all; it is still a good thing to give your cat during the daytime as a snack.

Not taking the cat to a vet

Even if your cat is one that is house born and has never ventured in the outside world, it still needs to be vaccinated. Living in a close house or an apartment still cannot guarantee that your fluffy little friend cannot get sick. This is why vets recommend taking your cat to a full body checkup at least one in every 6 months’ time to rule out any possible disease onset. If the cat shows the early signs of infection in the checkup, then the vet can treat it efficiently early on and also save you a large sum of money that you might have to spend later on.

Leaving plants in places where a cat can easily reach them

This is common knowledge to many cat owners but still, some can be ignorant about it, many house plants are toxic to the pets and especially cats. As you might have known earlier, cats love to eat flowers. This is why it is better to be sure that your house does not have any flowering plants that can be dangerous for your cat’s digestive system and its overall health. Some of the common toxic flowering plants for cats are as follows.

  • Azaleas
  • Daffodils
  • Aloe
  • Begonias
  • Calla Lilies
  • Ficus

One other thing that most cat owners neglect is that they leave the pants in places where cats can easily reach them.  It is best to have the flower hanging pots instead of placing them near the windows where cats usually love to sit.

Punishing the cat on a bad behavior

Cats often show bad behavior but this bad behavior is for things they do not like or related to their health conditions. Such as when a cat does not like its scratch post or the scratch post has been positioned inappropriately, it starts scratching the furniture around the house. Cats also tend to scratch and bite the humans if they had not been taught how to play with their human owners or if they find a person dangerous.

If a cat is not using a litter box, it is not bad behavior but a sign that something is wrong with its health. If an owner punishes the cat, this will only scare the poor fellow.

Buying the cat for a little child

One thing every cat owner should remember is that they must never leave a cat alone with a little child. A kid might hurt the cat or the kid might cry and irritate the cat, both of these situations can cause the cat to become aggressive.

Ignoring the fact that cats need alone time too

Just like us humans, cats too have a feeling of privacy and they too want a place where they can go and have some alone time. A cat is in need of a shelter where it can go to sleep or hide, even in a house.

Feeding milk to the cat

Only kittens need to rely on drinking their mother’s milk but as the kittens reach the stage of adolescence in their life, their body starts producing fewer enzymes that can assimilate milk in their bodies.  As for adult cats, they might even develop lactose intolerance altogether.

Declawing

Many cat owners perform the procedure of declawing but this procedure has been deemed as inhumane in many countries. During the process, the first knuckles of the cat are broken and then amputated.  This results in the cat to suffer immense pain whilst walking.

Ty, the smart doggo breaks free from kennel by opening lock with his tongue

They say that animals are smarter to some extent. This is especially true for pets like cats and dogs that actually initiate their owner’s actions to do things, with slight improvisation of course, much like the hero of our story today.

Meet with this cute doggo named Ty and his best bud is also a dog named Dilly.

rockcreekvets

Here Ty might seem like an innocent and cute dog who is enjoying a causal afternoon nap in his bed peacefully. But do not be fooled by this scene, not even for once, as this dog is really naughty and also happens to be a great escape artist.

Dilly and Ty are the pets of a veterinarian named Patrick Kalanzi who works at the Rock Creek Veterinary Hospital located in Colorado. On occasion, Kalanzi likes to bring his dogs to the work to have fun at the hospital where he places them in a kennel because god knows what they will do there if left to their own devices.

But as you can all see that these two dogs, especially Ty, are but contained as a mere illusion of their true naughty self. Ty seems to have a talent of his own, and it is opening the locks, especially of his kennel cage.

Not many might believe this fact about a dog opening the lock of its own kennel door. This is why we have also placed the video of Ty in his lock-picking action below.

So, do you believe us now? It only takes him a couple of seconds to do his great escaping trick for the audience.

Kalanzi said, “He has mastered opening the kennel’s door lock very fast. Well, what can you expect from him, he is a very licky pit bull. He is also a very entertaining and smart escape artist.”

Before Kalanzi recorded Ty breaking out of his kennel was a real mystery as to how his dogs keep getting out of their kennel, still, after knowing it, he could not stay mad at the mastermind Ty.

Kalanzi said, “I thought it to be very hilarious.”

Family finds their lost dog and reunites their son with the dog at his school

Holidays are not about the gifts under a Christmas tree but about who you are with on the holiday. No one seems to know this fact more than Carter Licata and his pet dog named Piper.

The 2 years old Piper is adored by everyone in the family but the bond he has with Carter is really special. April Licata, Carter’s mother said, “There love was the love at first sight type”

However, as the holiday season approached near a tragedy struck the family when Piper was nowhere to be found as she went missing.

April Licata

Last month Carter let Piper with another family dog outside for using the bathroom but when he came to the door, the other dog was there but Piper seemed to have gone missing.

The family searched high and low for Piper and even posted requests on social media as well as community groups. They were praying that piper would return home safe and sound but then days turned to many weeks and they came to the realization that they might never be able to see Piper again.

Licata said, “We were all very sick. The older kids in our house were not interested in Christmas decorations at all and it was a very somber environment around the house on this Thanksgiving.”

April Licata

Then one day out of the blue, Licata got a message from a shelter named Genesee County Animal Shelter that they have found a dog matching description of Piper which was dropped off by someone at the shelter anonymously.

When Licata and her husband found out about the possible finding of Piper, Carter was out of town and they decided to not tell him and planned to surprise him. They went and fetch her from the shelter and kept him around the house for a surprising reunion with his brother.

April Licata

When the family car drove at the school gate and Carter saw Piper sitting on the front seat, he immediately broke down in tears.

Piper was also very happy to see his brother as his tail started wagging crazily. Piper jumped in to Carter’s arms as he stepped inside the car and Piper started giving kisses nonstop on Carter’s face.

Watch the video of the touching reunion below in the video.

It is not an uncommon fact for any person who loves cats or owns a cat as a pet in their home that these cats love to snuff their elastic bodies into compartment of almost any size. Be it a laundry basket or the drawer or the cardboard box, which are their favorites, these fluffy cats cannot seem to resist the urge to fit themselves inside these containers. It can be a little frustrating especially if you have just bought a new pet bed for your cat but they still prefer to sleep inside  cardboard box which can be the very same they might have come in your house. Still, an explanation has been provided about their obsession with stuffing their bodies in closed compartment.

if-it-fits-i-sits-9/

The theory behind the cats stuffing themselves inside tight pales is that they feel safer in them because of their stress relieving effect. A team of researchers working at the University of Utrecht put this theory of cats in boxes and the effect of it on reducing stress, by conducting and experimental study.

hilarious-cat-snapchats/

if-it-fits-i-sits-9/

What the researchers found has left many cat lovers astonished for their lack of knowledge about these cats. These cats actually do tend to experience lower stress levels once stuffed inside a box. The researchers conducted this study at a cat Shelter located in Denmark which involved a total of 19 cats, 10 of which were already attached to living in boxes.

These scientists presented the results, “experiences filled with stress can have major impact on the health of cats as well as may result in higher incidences where they might contract infectious diseases from living in a shelter due to their increased cortisol levels which leads to immunodeficiency. Although numerous studies present the preference for finding a hiding place as well as stress reduction of the hiding boxes in cats in combine studies, not all of these studies determined if proper hiding would be an effective approach fro the quarantine of cattery.”

The stress level of cats was scored by the Kessler and Turner Cat-Stress Score. Cats living in boxes had a low stress level as compared to the non-box group. Still, after 1 week, both of these cat groups recorded the same score on the CSS.

Family Shocked & Horrified to Learn that a Giant Bear Has Been Living Under Their Home

Earlier this November a family residing in was living their life normally when one day they suddenly heard sounds coming from underneath the crawl space of the house. After listening to it closely and looking for the source outside they came about a shocking and horrifying discovery. A very huge animal had been living under their house and it as a bear.

As a matter of fact, one of the bears living in the woods had been looking for a nice warm spot for doing his winter hibernation when the family had left their door to the crawl space open and the ear took this as an open invitation. The family called the BEAR League; a group which handles such types of situations all the time.

Ann Brant, the worker of BEAR League told the family that they would be coming the next day and will help to relocate this bear away from home. However, after the day passed, the sounds coming from under the crawl space also died down. After thinking that the bear might have moved out, the husband of the family closed the door of crawl space but little did he know that the bear was still underneath.

But the very same night, they heard the bear again and the husband felt bad about locking the bear in the crawl space. Then Bryant came the very next morning to help the bear get out.

Bryant deals with these types of situations every day and her team knew what they need to do. She found the entrance to the crawl space from another place and then managed to get behind the bear. She then made use of a special tool that makes noises to scream that bear from his hiding spot. She also asked the wife of the family to watch from the window and tell her when the bear was out. But the bear never came out.

However, after a short while, when Bryant was about to give up, the bear decided to move out.

Everyone then saw the massive bear dashing out of the crawl space and then away from the house to find a more suitable place for winter sleep. Brant said, “We knew this bear for a very long time.  He loves the food at the local Mexican restaurant and can be found often diving in their dumpsters.”

Lake Tahoe is the home to many bears in the area and during the winter season, they try to look for comfortable and safe places for heir hibernation sleep. This is why authorities often make a warning to residents of the area to lock their crawl spaces as well as other places where ears might enter and seal themselves. If they like the place, they might make it their home and it would be really hard to move them out from there.

An Adorable ‘Puppy’ was Rescue but it was actually a Wild Dingo

A woman living in a small town named Wandiligong in Australia made a very fun discovery when a rare animal landed in her backyard.

At first, the woman whose name is Jayne Guiney thought that this was a lost puppy or a cub of a fox.

She said, “I woke up on hearing the faint whimpering sounds so I went out to check it in my backyard.  I looked up and then saw a small animal being right on the edge of the 3-meter tall cliff by my house. I made a grab for the animal as it was going to fall and he simply fell right into my arms and then cuddled. I thought that it was a fox as his face was pointy like theirs but then I saw him be robust like a pup.”

After taking care of it for a week, she took the animal to a local vet and the vet realized that this was no puppy and immediately called the Australian Dingo Foundation, which is a nonprofit sanctuary that is working for the conservation of dingoes.

The Dingo, which was named as Wandi, was about 5 weeks of age and had a scratch mark on the back from the preying bird who most likely had stolen him from his family.

Wandi was too little to know any proper behavior of the Dingoes so he was placed with a playmate of his kind of about the same age.

A volunteer working for the sanctuary, Kevin Newman said, “He was a real hit with the workers here.  He was really friendly and the world sinks his little sharp teeth in your arm no matter who you were.”

Newman told that Dingoes are actually the equivalent of the Lions. He says, “They do not bark but howl for communicating and they also have their annual breeding season. Cubs can only be born during the winter season.  They have never been domesticated.”

A genetic test revealed that Wandi is actually a true 100% alpine Dingo of Australia and this great news for the sanctuary that is working hard for their preservation. Alpine Dingo is at a huge risk of getting disappeared from the face of the earth.

Newman said, “Most Australians only see these Alpine Dingoes as a threat to the agriculture even if they do not hunt sheep because these dingoes are unable to process the fat. They are also too little for taking on cattle as prey. In some areas, these dingoes are also called as wild dogs. People often put baits and traps to kill them despite these dingoes playing an important role in the overall Australian ecosystem.
