PDSA says that this miniature gold medal for Magawa was created by Cleave & Co; the court medalists and jewelers. This is the same company that has created the engagement ring for Meghan Markel; the Duchess of Sussex. PDSA said that all the medals for PDSA are made by them.

This PDSA Gold Medal was created after a struck of a die whilst using the traditional medal making methods. This die is 18.25mm in diameter while the weight is 3.9 grams.

Amy Dickens; the PDSA Awards and heritage manager told that every member of APOPO and PDSA was feeling excited for the ceremony of Magawa receiving his Gold Medal.

She said, “due to the adverse effects of the COVID-19 in UK as well as in the rest of the world, the plans for the original presentation ceremony had to be re-worked. This means that Magawa is the first rat to bring two changes in the history of our charity; one to be the first rat honored with the PDSA Gold Medal and second for carrying it out via Virtual Presentation. We are thrilled to shine this spotlight on all the amazing work Magawa has done and cannot wait for people to see Magawa in action.

Magawa has made history by becoming the first rat to be honored with the PDSA Gold Medal.

The work done by Magawa and the charity APOPO is quite outstanding as well as unique. It is estimated that nearly 4 to 6 million of the landmines had been laid down across Cambodia from year 1975 to 1998. So far these mines have resulted in 64000 deaths in Cambodia.

Director General McLoughlin of PDSA says, “HeroRAT Magawa and the work done by him have led to lives being saved directly. It has changed the lives of men, women, and children alike who were affected with these hidden landmines. With each discovery from Magawa,the it leads to lesser risk of death and injury for these locals. The purpose of the PDSA Awards Program is to help raise awareness about status of animals in our society. It is also to honor all the credible contributions that animals bring into our life. This truly deserves our highest recognition. We are really excited to present Magawa with the PDSA Gold Medal.”

Magawa is responsible with task of saving the lives by making the huge tracts of land safe across Cambodia.

Magawa is very serious with his job.

Christopher Cox, the CEO for APOPO says that Magawa has an amazing sense of smell as well as an excellent memory.

He said, “We teach the landmine detecting rats like Magawa with the clicker technique for scratching the earth on a landmine. During their training they hear the Click sound and then receive a reward in form of a treat to find correct scent of a target.”

All the land that has been made safe by Magawa and his other rodent colleagues allows for the local people to make expansions and improve their lives.

The charity organization APOPO has trained Magawa to detect landmines. He is able to do his job much faster as compared to a human with the metal detector.

The PDSA Gold Medal award was started back in 2002 and is awarded to the civilian animals for their devotion towards duty and exceptional bravery. Magawa has become an official 30^th recipient for this medal award and the first ever non-canine animal to receive it.

Maria Dickens, the founder of veterinary charity created her program of Animal Awards Programme in 1943. She is of the belief that with the recognition given to heroics of these animals, it will help raise the status of animals overall in our world and help sure for better animal treatment. Besides this PDSA Gold Medal, they also awarded the PDSA Dicken Medal, PDSA Commendation and the PDSA Order of Merit.

The charity was founded back in 1917 and has offered either free or reduced cost veterinary care for pets in need. Charity is of belief hat no animal should suffer due to the financial hardship of its owner.

For the last 97 years, PDSA has given its help to nearly 20 million pets by providing 100 million treatments.

Meet Loki, The Raven Who Loves Companionship and Cuddles

Although most people tend to get animal companions which are traditional animals like cats and dogs but for someone like Elliot Manarin, he only chooses the unorthodox ones.

One day a local breeder contacted Elliot and said to him that he has a raven named Loki, who’s the owner has died and Loki was now an orphan and was in need of a new place.

The story was that the owner of Loki passed away but his body was not found until it was few weeks and during that time Loki was left alone by himself. After the dead person was found by his relatives, they also got in touch with a local bird breeder to take care of Loki in his recent predicament. It was then Elliot was informed of Loki and he offered his home and heart for Loki.

This is Loki, who is a well-trained raven from Essex, England. He has a heart worth in gold but his attitude is a little bit cheeky.

The previous owner of Loki died and left Loki orphaned but then Elliot picked him up and now they are BFFs.

But it was not an easy friendship for the get-go as Elliot had to spend many years to build his bond with Loki. He did it with much hard work and lots of care and love. Now, these two are inseparable who also share cuddles with each other as well as have conversations, play games, and do a few mischiefs in their daily life.

This pair of a best friends now spend their days chatting with each other and cuddling.

Elliot says that Loki has a unique attitude and it is sometimes a lot to handle. They both exchange gifts with each other and Loki are really fond of solving puzzles. Like any Raven, he is also a little bit of a mischievous bird and loves to undo shoelaces of people in hopes that they would trip.

Loki is also a thief as he is known for stealing food and money from time to time if that can fix in his little beak. He also trades what he steals for something like a tasty treat.

Things he steals have a buy-back price like for a cleaning sponge; it is 3 grapes while the padlock can be bought back from Loki for a chocolate biscuit.

At first, it was hard for both Elliot and Loki because of Loki being too anxious and aggressive in his new home. After years of hard work, he now has a great relationship with his new owner.

Elliot says that Loki is really like a human in his social life, intelligence, and emotions.

A group of explorers was passing through the Maasai Mara National Reserve located in Kenya when suddenly saw the family of cheetahs. This family of cheetahs was gathered on the edge of the river. The river was flooded and its current was really strong but these animals did not care about it at all. This family of cheetahs only had one goal and that was to cross the flooded river. Once they made their mind, they really went for it.

The biggest of the cheetahs leaped right into the flooded river’s water which caused the explorers to hold their breath. Soon, 2 other cheetahs followed the first one and as people standing there watched with the same thoughts, will these cheetahs make it to the bank of the river, photographers in the group of people named Buddhilini De Soyza and Arnfinn Johansen grabbed hold of their cameras and captured once in a lifetime scene.

The photographer named Arnfinn Johansen said that he had been following this family of 5 cheetahs for a very long time. He said, “This family of cheetahs hunts on both sides of this river so it was no surprise that they wanted to cross the river. Normally these cheetahs would cross the river by walking on the stones near the river. But this year there had been rains far too often and the river got flooded and it made it difficult for them to cross the river in their previous way. They had been walking up and down this river edge for a long time to look for a place to reach the other side. However, the strong current made it very dangerous for them. This river is also the home to the Nile Crocodile and for these crocodiles, these cheetahs can be a really tasty and easy meal.”

Johansen said there was a high chance of the cheetah deaths that day. He said, “it is not too long ago when a cheetah got drowned in this river and the crocs killed it when he tried to cross the river. After the cheetahs surveyed the river for a long time, these 5 brothers went in it to cross it.”

At first, the eldest of the cheetahs jumped in the river and then 2 others followed him in. after that 2 smaller cheetahs of the group waited for a few moments before the also followed suit.

Johansen said that the pack tired to swim as fast they were able to. He said, “You could really see and tell that they were not fond of doing this.” but luck was on their side as all of the cheetahs managed to reach the other side. After the elder cheetah reached the edge of the river, he shook both his tail and fur and even hissed at the flooded river.

A woman named Courtney Wingate was talking a walk at her hometown’s local animal shelter when she came across the 3 cute little lab puppies sitting in a kennel. Courtney Wingate, who is the director of the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana, knew in her heart that she cannot leave these cute looking puppies there especially when one of them passed her the cutest and charming smile she had ever seen in her life.

Wingate then called on a volunteer named Sarrah Walton, who then helped her grab that 8 weeks old dog along with the others. As Wingate is a big fan of the LSU, she named the pups as Jose, O, and Burreaux after the name of the quarterback and the coach of the team.

These puppies tested negative at the vet’s clinic for Parvo but once during the rescue, Burreaux got sick. He is the same pup who passed that charming smile we told you earlier. They immediately took to the animal hospital ad luckily he made it to full recovery.

Back during the rescue shelter, Wingate noticed that whenever someone talked with Burreaux in a high voice while yelling him that he is a good boy, he would immediately flash his teeth in a smile.

Walton said, “It is whenever you are sweet-talking to him, he offers a big smile like he is asking for something. It is like he is telling you to pet him and love him.”

When these dogs were all set for looking a new forever home, the rescue then posted a video of Joe where he displays his natural talent of playing fetch and Joe was adopted soon.

As for Burreaux, Walton and Wingate were thinking about what they need to post for a special talent to help him get adopted. He was not a good fetch dog like his brother but he was still a sucker for the love and sweet talks.

Walton said, “We were thinking that Burreaux wants a forever home so much that he is always smiling as if he is trying to cute it up. So we then recorded a video of him and it is going viral.”

In only a few days this video has been seen for 50K+ times but both O and Burreaux are still looking for their forever home. We do hope that soon Burreaux and his sister are going to find themselves a lovely forever home.

Today meet bacon, who is a cat that knows exactly how to ask from others what she really wants.

However, this cat does not need to communicate in the feline word of only Meow. This cat has actually managed to learn how to mimic the words of her mother. Well, she only knows to words for now, which are “Uh-Oh” but this is still impressive for a cat.

The first Bacon said Uh-Oh, both her mom and dad could believe what they heard. Barbara Jones said, “Each morning we would get up and go out to feed her and we would often say Uh-oh! Your bowl is empty. Then one morning, out of nowhere, she said her very first own Uh-oh”.

Both of her parents heard Bacon say Uh-oh but when they tried to make her say the same exact word one more time, she would not open her mouth. Jones said, “She is a cat after all and she is a moody one too.”

But they did not have to wait long afterward for bacon to say that favorite word once more. The very next day, Bacon again said Uh-oh when both her parents came down to give her food and since then this has continued for every single day.

Jones said, “Now we as oaks her, do you want to eat? And then she would respond with a hearty Uh-Oh.”

For Bacon, the sword Uh-Oh is not like a way of getting alarmed but an expression of demand. To her, it means feed me.

Bacon and Jones’s family had been in each other’s care and love for now almost 11 years. Jones said, “one day I simply heard a kitty yelling outside the door of my apartment. I then opened the door to find out and Bacon simply ran inside the apartment. Bacon has chosen me.”

The relationship of brother and sister is filled with mischiefs throughout the life and one brother proves that this sibling love and the pranks will never know an end. This is the story of a man named Mendl Weinstock who made a promise to his sister named Riva 5 years ago before her wedding. That promise was so hilarious in its own sense that everyone only took it as a joke and laughed about it. And now when the moment finally came, Mendl Weinstock decided to make that promise true and surprise her sister and the guests at her wedding.

Mendl Weinstock decided to make true to his promise he made 5 years ago to his sister about crashing her wedding in a hilarious way.

Mendl posted a picture of himself with his sister in her wedding gown and a llama wearing a Tux. These pictures were posted on Reddit and since then only 3 days have passed with post getting 150K+ likes with thousands of funny comments. Mendl also posted on the same post that fulfilling this joke had cost him about 450 dollars.

After the post went viral, Mendl talked with the media in detail about the whole thing as to how it started. He said, “My sister was talking about her wedding when she was not even dating anyone. Just to make her really made I said that if she makes me come to her wedding, then I am going to bring a llama with me. After I teased her for a few minutes she tried reverse psychology on me and said that Llama was invited at the wedding too.”

Riva also said in the very same interview, “He had been torturing me with this for a long time and has been reminding me of this for the last 5 years at least twice every week. I tried to strike many deals with him to make sure that he would not do something like this but lo and behold, a llama actually came at my wedding.”

She also said, “When Mendl sets his mind to something, he really tries to make it happen. When I told him about my engagement, he said great, I am talking from a Llama farm right now. After one hour of the very same call, he called me back and said that the llama rental was confirmed.”

The first reaction of Riva after seeing he llama at her wedding with her brother was, “I Hate You So Much” but it was that sibling love-hate kind of thing.

Well, most of us known the dogs to be energetic creatures that never seem to run pout of energy but they too have their low time. Some dogs are also known for their laziness especially if they are obese. Do you remember the doggy from the last time which was obese and too lazy to even go on a simple walk around the neighborhood? Well, this dog ain’t like the last time, in fact, he is not overweight but simply just lazy to move around.

Well, that is enough for giving you the context, now meet the dog whose owner named her after her habit of being lazy, “Lazy”.

Believe it or not, Lazy is actually the name of a 10 years old dog who happens to be a guard dog and lives with his owner named Lucho Bugallo in Argentina. Although the dog is most like the other dogs who never shy away from an opportunity to walk around at the dog park, the passion which this dog has is actually a little bit unique. What Lazy loves to do most all the time is actually “To Do Nothing”. Yeah, you heard it right, this dog only wants to lay low and relax all the time when at home.

Bugallo said, “At home, we call Lazy as our Carpet. She feels happy to spend all of her days lying down like a carpet.”

While it can be a nuisance for a guard dog owner, Bugallo does not seem to be irritated by the inactivity of his dog. Instead, the owner seems to be more than accommodating for his dog’s peculiar habit. He even does the chores around the house in a manner that Lazy’s lazy hours do not get interrupted at all.

Bugallo is more than happy to let Lazy be a lazy dog as she like this state very much. The reason is simple; a smile at the end of the day from Lazy at the end of the day makes it a worthwhile habit.

Harper is a loving doggo daughter who has learned everything she knows from her dog mom Willow. But still, Harper, who is 2 years old, has some things that she needs to learn from her master.

As for Willow, she is more than happy enough to help whenever her doggo daughter needs her help if she encounters anything that is more than her paws can handle.

The owner of the 2 dogs named Tanya said, “Harper and Willow spend the entire time being close to each other and Willow has taught Harper many things. It is really cute to see Harper do what her dog mom has taught her.”

Quite recently, this daughter’s mother dog duo was playing at the local park when Harper came upon a large branch of a tree that was lying down by the side of the park’s trail. It seemed that Harper could not let herself be to leave that branch behind so she started trying to get it.

Harper was able to lift that long tree branch at first but then she was tuck as she walked behind the 2 posts at the path. Willow was seeing Harper and as she saw Harper stuck and dropping the stick, she immediately ran toward Harper to give her a helping paw.

It seemed that Willow being a good mom was not willing to let Harper give up on that goal by leaving the stick behind. After all, Willow had been the one who had taught Harper before on how to carry big sticks.

Tanya said, “Both of them have determined personalities and they are always very proud when they do something together. They then proceeded to carry that big stick for 1 kilometer around the 5 kilometers long park.”

The dog mo helped her doggo daughter carry the stick for sharing the weight and to move through the posts in their path. The 2 of them then trotted off in happiness while they held the stick in their mouths.

Harper knows that if she finds herself in any other difficult situation, she can rely on Willow to help her out.

Pesquet’s Parrot also called Dracula Parrot is a real thing

Whenever an ordinary person imagine as parrot, in their mind comes a picture of a bird in green, blue or red feathers. But what you might not know is that the world of the parrots is much more diverse than this. All in all, there are nearly 393 different species of the parrots which differ from each other greatly. There are sulfur crested parrots and then there are the bronze winged parrots. But we are sure that you never have had heard about a parrot species called the Pesquet’s Parrot which is also known by its other name the Dracula parrot.

This is the majestic looking Pesquet’s Parrot which is also called as Dracula Parrot.

These Dracula Parrots are recognizable by their chests of grey and black colors as well as their bright red feathers and pitch black colored beaks.

These Dracula parrots have short tails which are only 20 inches in length with the average weight being 600 to 800 grams.

Both the males and females are quite similar in appearance. The major difference in them is that the males of this species have the red patches behind their ears.

They are not like the ordinary parrots that climb from one branch to another one but instead they move around by jumping.

These birds can only be located in the New Guinea’s mountains.

Yes pesquet’s Parrot also called as Dracula parrot is a real thing. This parrot is known for its strange appearance but it has all the qualities of an excellent pet bird.

The Pesquet’s Parrot (Psittrichas fulgidus) is one of several species in the genus Psittrichas, which belongs to the subfamily Psittrichadinae. He has a very limited range in the island nation of Papua New Guinea.

Appearance

Some individuals have bright green plumage with streaks, while others are red orange with streaks. The breast is brownish-black and contrasting pale yellow or creamy. There are black markings on the face that resemble eyeliner, giving it the common name “cosmet parrot”. This is a medium-sized parrot between 25 and 28 cm long.

Yes they can talk

This species has an incredible ability, they are good talkers . They can learn to say human words or to imitate sounds that are presented to them.

They are very playful birds, often play with toys all day. They also love chewing things so you have to give them appropriate toys.

You should care for this bird as much as possible to keep it healthy and happy because if he feels well he will be more cheerful around his owner. Even though Pesquet’s Parrots are very social, they need regular time alone in their cages away from people and other pets too. Your avian veterinarian should check your pet on a regular basis and perform necessary tests.

Not lonely Birds

Parrots like Pesquet’s Parrot need the company of another parrot, if they live alone can become very noisy and sad. You should always be aware that this bird cannot stay locked in his cage for 24 hours a day no matter how tame he is because he needs to play outside .

Can you have them as pets ?

Yes, They are available as pets since some years ago but some avian veterinarians still disagree about their domestication. This is why you have to investigate all the pros and cons before buying your parrot:

Will my family welcome him? Will we manage to own him properly? Is it better to buy an already trained pet than teach it ourself? Do we really want to put so much effort in a parrot? Is it possible to tame and training him without any professional help?

To the point: never buy a parrot if you feel that you can not give him all the attention he needs. Your bird could become stressed and even depressed which will affect his life. There is still no evidence about their lifespan but we believe that they are pretty long-living birds, some species have been recorded up to 58 years old.

Pesquet’s Parrots are very expensive pets, this is why you should always check breeders before choosing your new friend because some of them sell wild caught animals which are confiscated from illegal traffic. This is why buying captive bred Pesquet’s Parrots will be better for the environment.

Cage Requirements

They need a big cage, not less than 32 inches long and 21-28 inches wide. The bar spacing should be no more than 3/8 inch apart because their powerful beaks can exploit any hole larger than that.

They also require a lot of toys to play with but never give your parrot wood or loose strings to play with because they will definitely try to eat them and the consequences could be fatal.

It does not require anyone to look the same to become best friends with each other. In fact, if you are quite opposite, you can still make a great team and the friend we are going to tell you about is quite the same.

Today we wish to tell you a loving and cute story about a pigeon named Herman and a puppy named Lundy; both of whom have found the friend in each other and their friendship is without any boundaries.

This is the Pigeon named Herman who cannot fly at all.

In 2018, The Mia Foundation, which is a rescue organization for animals, received a pigeon that was born with defects. The Mia Foundation is located in Rochester, New York. That pigeon was found by someone in a parking lot alone where he was sitting on a side of pavement for the last 3 days without moving.

The rescuers found out that the bird could not fly and they decided that it was best to euthanize him. However, the founder of the rescue organization Sue Rogers thought it would be best if she could take care of the pigeon herself.

She fed Herman for a little while with a tube and she also took him outside to help recover his health. He regained his health but could not fly and that was when he became the permanent resident of The Mia Foundation.

Then in January of 2020, the foundation received a 4 years old Chihuahua pup named Lundy and the first to greet the puppy was Herman.

This is Lundy, the dog who cannot walk.

A breeder from North America brought Lundy after he realized that the dog was having problems walking around. Soon after Lundy lost the use of her hind legs completely and the breeder asked foundation if he could bring him there and Rogers agreed.

When Lundy arrived at the rescue organization, he weighed only about 6 ounces and was so tiny that he could fit in a pocket easily. Vets think that he might suffer from a condition called Hydrocephalus which affects the little dog breeds mostly and leads to brain damage.

But for Herman and Lundy, it was love at first sight.

After Lundy and Herman went on a walk with Rogers, she started to notice that both of them started caring for each other. Then seeing them like that, she decided to put both of them in the same bed and both animals met with each other.

Rogers was unsure about them at first so she kept an eye on them but things turned out to be without any major concern. Both of them started cuddling with each other and Rogers was quick to pull out her camera and took photos of them. She then posted them on her Facebook account.

Now both of them are inseparable best friends and Rogers often catches them cuddling with each other.

Rogers thinks that Lundy is not able to walk because of damage to the spinal cord but is unsure about it. She plans to help with the treatment soon and in the meantime, she is looking to make the puppy a wheelchair and then look for a family that could adopt the dog.

As for Herman, he is most likely to remain in the care of Rogers at the foundation for the remainder of his life unless somebody is willing to adopt him.

Today we are going to show you guys a dog that breaks all the norm of natural breeding and selection. Apparently, this dog resembles much like a cat that lives in Vietnam. When the dog’s pictures were posted on Reddit, people made many theories about the breed of this amazing looking dog. One of the users called the dog to be like a Cartoon while the other one insisted that it was the Hmong breed of dogs.

This is a purrfect boy who is headed on his way to be one of the four-legged stars in the country of Vietnam.

Some of the Reddit users, where the dog’s pictures were first posted called it a hybrid dog breed between breeds of Vietnamese dog called Hmong and the Corgi dog.

It is not a surprising thing that most of you are hearing the Hmong breed of dog for the first time as it was an accidental breed in Vietnam. As per dog breeders, they are the amazing guard and hunting dogs that have excellent intelligence and strength to them. The Hmong breed of dogs originates from Northern Vietnam’s mountain area. Also, these Hmong dogs tend to get along with the kids very well and are very social animals.

Tuan and Hai Anh, the owners of this cute looking puppy said that the real name of this puppy is Dúi which translates “Bamboo Rat” in English. The created the fan page of Dúi only a few days ago and since then it has received 40K+ likes and is getting love from not only Vietnam but from all across the world.

They also revealed the exact breed of this dog and said that Dúi is a mix of the native dog breed Hmong and another short-legged dog breed named Dingo. They said they also suspect that he has undergone some gene mutation. He was brought by the from one of Vietnam’s mountain provinces,

An associate professor of psychology teaching at the Carroll University in Wisconsin named Denise Guastello said, “It makes perfect sense that a dog person is going to be a livelier one. And if a person is sensitive and introverted, then they are more likely a cat person. This explains that the preferences and personalities are intertwined with each other deeply.”

The orca Whales are one of the majestic creatures on God’s green earth. They are the sea mammals which also happen to be the largest member of the dolphin family and are extremely adaptable to their living conditions and are really intelligent. These orca whales can also communicate with each other for hunting in packs for the better hunting experience.

It is needless to mention but they happen to one of the least friendly of the sea mammals and for humans, it is best if they maintain a safe distance from these Orcas.

But when humans spotted an orca which was in a desperate condition and was in need of immediate help, the people in the video below decided to get close and help that poor orca. The incident in the recorded video below took place off the British Columbia’s coast. The orca has somehow got stranded on the series of rocks when it might have been trying to look for food.

As for the people who helped that poor orcas were all the volunteers who somehow come to know that there was an orca stuck at the beach that is need of the help from a Facebook post. Those people, after learning of the orca’s desperate and dire situation mobilized themselves really quickly and arrived at the scene of the incident. They were able to free the orca with some difficulty and the animal was not injured during this rescue operation. As the sources claim, the orca had been stuck there for quite some time and had been crying for many hours before someone posted the news on social media. Luckily for this Orca, these kind-hearted rescuers got wind of the news and helped rescue it.

If you are a wolf lover then we have great news for you. There is a sanctuary called Predators of the Heart Sanctuary which will let you wolf lovers have the awesome 2 hours of your life with their Wolf Encounter Experience. The sanctuary is located in the state of Washington near Seattle and is right next to the Canadian border in Vancouver. With this both the Americans and the Canadians can enjoy the opportunity of cuddling with the wolves.

For those who love the idea of meeting with wolves, you can now get a great tour in the wilds with the wolves held at the Predators of the Heart Sanctuary located in the state of Washington.

The wolves there are really friendly. Still, they need to have collars in their necks when they are to pose for photos with tourists.

Visitors there can not only pet them but also scratch their bellies too.

This animal reuse and the preservation sanctuary only keep the wolves there which do not have any place to live their lives.

According to the professor of Arizona State University named Wyne, most of the wolves do not act that friendly as the ones that live in their sanctuary. Still, with patience and a little hard skill, these wild animals can be raised in a manner where they can act friendly towards humans.

A professor says, “People still need to have some due diligence before they take the word of sanctuary that their animals are friendly.”

Wyne also said that wolves only do OK in the regions of the world where the humans are in sparse such as Canada, Siberia, and Alaska.

As for the other areas of the world where there is lots of human population, wolves are currently in dire situations and they need to have protection from the people.

This wolves’ sanctuary lies in the middle of Seattle and Vancouver.

Still, this does not mean that anyone can simply drop by at the sanctuary to meet with these wolves. A visitor needs to book a guided tour first with these wolves through the service of Airbnb for about 200 dollars per visitor. The sanctuary arranges 2 hours each day for 6 days per week with Sunday being off. There is also a big waiting list so one needs to plan this crazy one of a kind trip with careful planning for this Pacific northwest adventure to see these beautiful animals.

One should also know that there are not only wolves that live here but this sanctuary is also home to the cougars, foxes, birds of prey and reptiles.

One more thing you should remember is that just like driving, petting the wolves is an activity that I for 18+ visitors. There acres strict rules about this stipulation and one needs to be at least 18 years of age for petting the wolves. So this could be an activity to educate children above 18 years old only.

One needs to book in advance for this once in a life time wolf experience to see these apex predator and clear the misconceptions surrounding these living creatures.

For full disclosure, this sanctuary ahs also had a few of the safety incidents a very long time ago. In one of the cases, one of the hikers there lost his dog’s life when it ventured inside the private area of the sanctuary. Also, once a wolf escaped form its enclosure and went inside the property of another native of the island.

The Predators of the Heart Sanctuary was opened first back in 1998 and currently covers the area of 10 acres. This NGO maintains the very strict standard regarding the care of the animals they are protecting.

The Predators of the Heart Sanctuary offers an area of about 10 acres for its wolves to roam about. These Exotic Animals provide great friendly wolf encounter.
