For the 3-year-old pit bull terrier mix dog named Juno, making friends is a long term takes as she takes a long time for trust to be built.
However, her mom Kelly Tedford was not aware of this when she decided to adopt Juno back in 2017 when she came from Vancouver and all the way to Seattle.
Kelly said to media, “I was not aware of Juno’s full history that she had been already flunked from two adoptive homes prior from me. I am a stubborn person so I sat with tats in my hand in front of Juno for half an hour. She finally approached me.”
Kelly herself was a part-time dog trainer and had a lot of experience working with such difficult dogs. Still, whenever, Kelly tired to introduce Juno with her friends, she would get aggressive. Eventually, after a long time, Juno settled down.
To ease Juno’s mental sufferings he had her checked to a vet who prescribed some Prozac fro Juno.
On Medication, Juno’s aggression lessened as well as she got to remember her walking buddies whenever she saw them.
Juno on her walks became friend with 2 Labradors by the names Callie and Blondie.
Kelly said, “as soon as we would drive past their house, Juno would start going nuts. So that was kind of a good thing.”
Fast forward 6 months after that, Kelly had to move away to a different place for a job and took Juno with her. There Juno was lonely all again as she once again had trouble making friends with other dogs. Seeing this, Kelly decided to give Juno little surprise and that surprise was a dream play date for Kelly with her best old friends.
Kelly says, “It is hard for me to make long walks with Juno for her to make friends, that is why I often travel back to my old neighborhood so Juno can meet her old buddies. This helps her to de-stress.”
Juno was so excited to see her old buddies in a long time.
Kelly took Juno and her friends for a special date for a swim and she saw Juno finally relaxing in months for the first time.
Kelly says that for the happiness of Juno, these long drives are worth it.
