Today we are going to introduce you to the dog named Hunter, a Shiba Inu who can create abstract art painting and has thousands of followers on Instagram.
Hunter, the 5 years old pup, lives in Alberta, Canada with his human named Kenny Au and his wife named Denise Lo. The couple told media, “our house had a big wall on which we wanted to put some artwork but we could not settle on anything. Considering how important Hunter is in our life, we decided to teach him to put some artwork on the wall. So we trained him how to hold the brush and then paint on a piece of paper with brush and then we late added in some paint and the results were quite astonishing for us.”
Au said, “When he learned it the first time, it was all he wanted to do. However, we mixed things up so he would not overwork himself or get bored. With the paintings we have incorporated into his daily routine life, he seems to love this new job. It keeps him calm throughout the day.”
With Hunter’s passion to paint increasing day by day, the couple decided to make him an Instagram page and later an Etsy Shop where everyone can buy his artwork. His paintings sell for 38 dollars apiece.
The couple said that they will let Hunter paint as long as he desires. If he gets bored they will not force him. According to the couple, Hunter thinks of them as his companions rather than his masters.
The couple told media, “He has a lot of energy and loves it when we exercise him booth physically and mentally. We taught him any other tricks too. He can clean up his toys, fetch slippers for us and even stack the toy rings. He is definitely the smartest dog we have ever had. However he has a strong personality so when he does not like something we want him to do, he lets us know like getting his nails clipped.”
