It is natural to spoil your dog with either a special treat or a toy but it does not necessarily means that you must have to spend money to buy them from pet stores. You can make use of many worn out household items to make them into toys for your dogs as well. Some of the household items that can be a made into a wonderful toy for your dog are as follows.
T-Shirt Rope:-
Dogs loves simple things and especially the ones on which they can chew on. You can simply take up worn out clothes, dish towels and other such items. Cut them into stripes and braid them together into a rope with a secured knot on either ends. You can further braid the rope or hang stripes on each end as well making a perfect chew toy for your dog.
Tennis Ball toy:-
This is rather a simple but effective homemade toy to keep your pet busy for hours. Simply take an old tennis ball, cut it open and slide in few dog treats and then patch it up. Tennis ball will allow dog teeth to sink inside while the smell of treat will keep them busy as well as happy.
Peanut Butter Jar Treat:-
You can never scrape all of the Peanut Butter from the jar but what’s left inside can be a tasty treat for slobbery tongue of your pet dog. To make it extra challenging, place the jar in freezer for few hours and let it hardened. Give it to your dog and he will be busy licking and cleaning it completely for several hours. Once completely liked clean you can simply place the jar in recycle bin or you can also keep using this jar by putting chicken fat or bacon grease and freezing it inside fridge.
Bottles in socks:-
Place an empty bottle inside a worn out sock and close it with a knot. The sound of crushing plastic bottle is like music to ears of your dog and with the right resistance from socks; your dog will have all the fun in the world with a worry to care about.
Toilet paper roll chew toy:-
Trash paper rolls can be turned into great chew toy as well. Take a paper roll and crumple it from one side and secure it with tape. Place some tasty dog treat from other end and then seal this end as well. Give it to your dog and watch how he will chew through this homemade toy to get to the tasty treats inside. You can also use a cereal box to make this as well.
Frozen Broth Socks:-
This toy can be made perfectly with gym socks and they can be either dirty or clean. Soak the socks in a broth and ball them up. Place these balled up socks in freezer for overnight. The result will be an instant lovable tasty summer chew toy for your dog.
