Animals tend to have habits like humans but they way they do these things can be pretty disgusting. Some of the disgusting facts you never wanted to know about these animals are as follows.
Fruit Fly swarms are massive orgies:-
Have you ever swatted a swarm of fruit flies in your house? You might think they were gathered there for eating something instead they were gathered in a massive orgy. These fruit flies gathered up by building the mood in what experts call “the Oral sexual foreplay”. After building up this romance these fruit flies start making love for 20 minutes.
Petting a bird turns them on:-
Petting a bird can be a little disturbing for you to hear. When you pet a bird from head down to back and it starts to cuddle, actually this petting sexually turns them on as they consider it kind of foreplay.
Among many birds, stroking from head to back is considered as a mating ritual and whenever you stroke their heads down to their back they start to pant heavily with sexual excitement. If they are totally into any of sexual mating they will let you know by vomiting. The vomit is actually the regurgitated food that they offer for sexual mating.
Proboscis Monkeys Taunt Each Other with erect penis display:-
Proboscis monkeys are the worst when expressing their feelings. If they are made they will start to by jumping up and down on branches and show their fangs and in the end they show you their erected penis.
Yes you heard it right they will get a boner once they get mad. No this erection is not a sign for being turned on sexually. This is its way of answering threats to any animal be it of their own species or any other. Researchers have named this phenomenon as the “Erect Penis Display”.
Some bird species keep themselves cool by defecating on themselves:-
Many birds like Storks, Condors, Flamingos and vultures use a method called “urohidrosis” to keep themselves cool in warm weather. The method involves defecating on their feet and staying still in the poop rest of the day without doing anything about it.
By drying the defecated poop in the sun the leftover white fecal powered helps keep their body cool from sun. There is one downside to it as well. If they do not clean it in time, then it can cause burning on their legs.
Bored duck turn to cannibalism:-
This is one of the most bizarre and disgusting facts about animals. Ducks that are normally gentle can get easily bored and when they are bored they go down in water and splash water around themselves. For duck in captivity, if they get bored they turned to cannibalism. Yes you heard it right, they will visit their friend, murder them and cannibalize on their dead bodies.
If you are worried about your ducks then you can simply trim off his beak so he cannot use it to go a murder spree.
