Simon is your average grumpy house cat who was never interested in making new friends.
Simon, the ginger-colored cat had many opportunities to mingle with other cats at the cat café named Crumbs & Whiskers located in Los Angeles but he always kept it to himself.
Simon’s mom, Mackenzie Coffman told media, “He is definitely used to other animals but never has he played with the other cats at the café.”
However, things changed one day for Max when he laid his eyes on his neighbor next door through a window across the street.
Coffman said, “I was in bed when I was woken up by Simon’s whining as he was looking at the window. I looked up and surprisingly saw the neighbor’s cat in their window. I lived in my apartment for 2 years and that was the first time I was seeing a cat there.”
As for Simon, he was clearly smitten by the hottie feline but still, it was not known If that attraction was mutual or not. This did not stop Simon from trying.
Coffman said, “The other cat was not looking at Simon at all. In order to get the cat’s attention, Simon started jumping up and down on the windowsill.”
This was the first time, Coffman had seen Simon like this and she decided to act as Simon’s wingman.
Coffman jokingly wrote a funny sign and taped it on her window for the neighbors to see.
Soon after they hung the sign, a reply was hung by the neighbors too.
Coffman said, “They opened the window and introduced themselves and I told them that my Simon always waits for their Theo. They said that they had been watching him every day but did not know his name. so they were calling him Chester.”
While Simon’s obsession with Theo has only grown over time, Theo is still playing hard to get.
The story was shared by Coffman her Twitter account. In mere 2 days, the post has been liked by over 200000 people and has 100000 retweets.
Now after weeks of a hard time, Simon finally had a play date with his beloved.
A meet and greet were set up by the owners of both cats.
Theo was at first nervous meeting Simon for the first time but for Simon, it was a dream come true. He was happy to follow Theo like a puppy.
