It is no hidden truth that most people cannot remain indifferent towards cute little fluffy animals like dogs, cats, bunnies or even those cute and cuddly pandas. One thing that increases their cuteness is how little they are. Well, in the case of today’s story, Mother Nature decided to play a cute prank on one of the large breeds of dogs, the German Shepherd. A German Shepherd Dog is suffering from a rare condition of animals that will make him appear as a cute little pup for the rest of its life.
Meet, Rangers, the cute little German Shepherd pup.
Ranger in the above photo is a fully grown up 2 years old purebred dog of German Shepherd breed. However, despite his age, where he should be huge, he is stuck being a tiny little pup. This is because of his rare condition called Pituitary Dwarfism. He was diagnosed with this issue after he got an infection from a parasite named Giardia.
Ranger is a 2 years old German Shepherd dog who suffers from a rare animal disorder that has forced him to remain in his puppy years forever.
Selby Mayo, the owner of Ranger said, “When we got Rangers from his breeder, he was particularly smaller than other pups in the litter but we figured it to be caused by Coccidia. We took him home and had him parasite free. However, he later suffered from Giardia and we also discovered he had an infection on the side of his neck. We were able to control his infection really fast and then after few months from the parasite as well.”
Ranger has been diagnosed with Pituitary Dwarfism due to his infection.
After recovering from his ailment, the owner of Ranger noticed that he might have something wrong with him as he did not grow up as other German Shepherds used to. They took him to a vet for figuring out what was wrong with him.
However, despite his health issues, a diagnosis was made.
While he is now forever stuck in the cute puppy age, this also comes with side effects. This has led him to suffer from flaky skin and shedding fur. This sic used by a disorder of the endocrine system named Hypothyroidism. His thyroid is not producing enough of the much-needed thyroid hormones for growth.
Ranger is now a cute little dog who is really healthy and happy.
Ranger got the proper treatment of his condition from his loving owners and he is now enjoying being an internet sweetheart with thousands of followers.
