A Pitbull dg named Meatloaf was left to fend for himself by his previous owner. While doing so he was hit by a car when he was wandering about on Florida’s streets. However, the person who hit him was a kind-hearted one and called the animal control.
The car hit proved to be a stroke of good luck for Meatloaf as he was rescued by the RAIN (Rescue Animals in Need” group.
When Meatloaf was taken to the vet after his reuse, his checkup revealed that his skin was covered in infections as well as the mange. He was suffering from an infection in both ears and was extremely malnourished that caused his weight to drop down by 20 pounds. The dog was scared of everything and the rescuers made a guess based on his injuries that might have been a bait dog used in dogfighting.
Meatloaf was sent to a foster home until his injuries and conditions healed. Eventually, he completely healed and the search for his new home began. His foster mother met with many of the adoption requesters but she could not find the right fit for Meatloaf. She was worried that she would not find the right loving family from him until she met a woman named Brittney Strugala.
Strugala was actually helping her friend to find a dog but when she saw Meatloaf’s picture she had a sudden desire to adopt him. She along with her fiancé had been planning to adopt a new Pitbull for their other dog Sky.
The problem was that the young couple’s small apartment was not the right fit for two dogs and so they moved.
After changing their living situation, the couple immediately adopted and brought Meatloaf to their home. It was only after five days of their move that they had brought Meatloaf to their house.
Although Meatloaf’s injuries and conditions have been healed until he was adopted, he still was afraid and anxious dogs. His new family determined to help the dog through this bad time.
Strugala said, “I knew that he would be a lot of work but I still wanted to be the part of it all the way through.”
Strugala said, “He is now not so much scared of many things as we have shown him that they are not at all scary. Sky also helps him feel like it.”
Now Meatloaf is one of the happiest and the goofiest pitbulls who got a second chance at life. He plays with his sister Sky everywhere around the house. He has finally understood as long as his family is around him, he does not need to be scared.
