Earlier this month, on a particularly hot day in Brazil, a local man named Cledson Matias de Oliveira was driving down the road of his town when he suddenly saw something. It happened to be a little armadillo that was in the middle of the road. As for the man seeing the armadillo he thought that this armadillo was actually flagging him down. Without thinking about another thing, the man pulled his car to the side near the animal and got out to check if the animal was in need of assistance.
Cledson then shared the video of this heart-touching encounter and it indeed went viral after a short while. The video was posted on YouTube where it has received 50000 likes so far. Watch the video of the thirsty armadillo as he flags down a car for help. It will certainly leave you crying a little bit.
His is the armadillo that flagged down the car of a man named Cledson Matias de Oliveira. The reason for doing this was he was thirsty.
Cledson, talking about this one-of-a-kind encounter with the media, said, “The armadillo was standing in the middle of the road as if he was in need of serious help. I truly believe he was looking for somebody’s help. I instantly stopped my car, without even thinking about it twice.”
The day was particularly a hot one and the air had all this smoke from the California wild fires in the area. Cledson assumed the poor little creature was thirsty. Thinking this, he pulled the car on the side of the road and also took some water out. Then he went on to give that water to that little creature.
Luckily for this armadillo, a kind man spotted his plea for help and took action.
The man took a water bottle out and gave some water to this adorable armadillo.
Cledson says, “The armadillo drank the water with great thirst. I believe he was really happy that I had stopped for his help. I could literally feel its happiness.”
Cledson adds that normally these wild armadillos tend to stay away from humans so he knows as to how badly the animal wanted his help. Cledson says, “It was a unique and magical moment.”
Cledson was really amazed by the clam nature of this armadillo.
After the animal’s thirst was quenched, he still didn’t left Cledson for a little while. The man thinks that it was the way of armadillo thanking him and for showing trust. Cledson says, “This was a very gratifying and pleasant experience for me.”
Armadillos usually do not get close to humans.
The word armadillo is from the Spanish language meaning “Little armored Pone”. Armadillos are only of the mammalian kingdom that has this sort of armor. There are 20 existing species of this animal and expect one species; all of the other 19 live in the South American region. Ironically, when armadillos are born, they only have the soft leather-like skin which over a few weeks turns hard.
Armadillos also have very poor hearing and seeing senses but they are blessed with a great sense of smell. This strong sense of smell is what allows them to hunt their prey. Armadillos also have soft fur that grows underside of their bodies. This fur lets them know on what surface they are walking; much like the whiskers of a cat.
