علاوہ استنبول کے ساحلی علاقے کو بھی اس زلزلے کیلئے سب سے خطرناک زون قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ایک اندازے کے مطابق استنبول کی آبادی ڈیڑھ کروڑ سے زائد ہے۔ ماہرین ارضیات کی جانب سے حاصل کئے گئے ڈیٹا میں بتایا گیا ہے کہ شہر میں موجود ہزاروں عمارتوں

کی حالت انتہائی مخدوش ہے۔ اگر خدانخواستہ زلزلہ آیا تو معاشی نقصان کیساتھ ساتھ انسانی جانوں کا بھی نقصان ہو سکتا ہے، اس لئے حکومت کو چاہیے کہ وہ ان عمارتوں کو خالی کروا کر اس میں موجود لوگوں کی رہائشی کا بندوبست کرے اور زلزلہ پروف عمارتوں کی تعمیر کی جائے۔
