Today we present to our readers a story filled with compassion and empathy that created a miracle and saved a precious life.
All of this started last year in October when a woman named Kylina Turner was doing a routine property inspection regarding her work when she saw something. She found a small bundle of fur that was, in fact, a little puppy.
Turner told the media, “ I thought it was a stuffed animal. He was all frozen and staring still at me. I thought of checking it and went straight to it and then I saw an ear twitch. I was shocked to find out that it was an animal, let alone a living one. The poor pup could not move his legs as he was stuck in a wire bed frame. He did not have any water or food. Due to sitting directly under the sunlight, he was suffering from bad sunburn.”
Turner found out that the tenant found him two days ago and called out to animal control to rescue this dog. However, they did not come and the dog was too dirty so the tenant decided to leave him on its own. Turner carefully untangled the poor dog and took him to the nearest vet as he was unsure as to if the dog would make it to the short 20 minutes drive to the vet.
Turner said, “He was not scared of me and was not making any sounds. He was just watching me with a blank look in his eyes. I think he was aware that I was trying to help him.”
The vet made sure to check the dog and ensure if he was safe. The checkup revealed that the dog was severely malnourished with sunburns and dehydration. He was also suffering from horrible mange.
Turner, when brought this German Shepherd dog he was weighing a mere 18 pounds while an average dog should weight about 50 pounds. She named the dog “Caro”.
After Caro left the vet, Turner decided to adopt him and brought home a new friend for her 7 years old dog Casey. First few weeks were not easy as Turner had to give Caro medicated baths and had to feed him small meals every four hours.
Luckily, Turner’s hard work soon paid off and Caro started gaining weight again and his fur began to grow back as well.
Now Caro is fully recovered and weighs 50 pounds and is a beautiful looking German Shepherd.
Tuner says, “He has the best disposition of any dog I have ever owned.”
