Wiley is the name of a Dalmatian dog who wears his heart on his sleeve, well, to be honest, he wears it on his nose. This, now one-year-old pup rose to massive internet fame due to his special heart-shaped marking that is placed right on his face. This cute marking of a heart has made him into a social media celebrity and his 120 thousand Instagram followers cannot get enough of Wiley’s cuteness.
The name of Wiley’s human mom is Lexi Smith. The 26 years old Lexi Smith describes Wiley as 54 pounds of goofy, clumsy, sassy, hungry, cuddly, curious, wild, crazy silly and happy loving dog.
She told media that, “He lives up to his marking on his nose as he looks so lovely in his photographs. While this may be true, no amount of picture can actually capture what Wiley really is and what everything he likes means to him. He is just my bestest friend in this whole wide world.”
Wiley and Smith met each other in Colorado where Smith lived her whole life. They actually met in the city of Oklahoma on the Saint Patrick’s Day last year in 2018. While his heart marking makes him stand out of the crowd, Smith says that it was not Wiley’s heart mark that made her adopt him.
Smith told media, “Wiley is one of the 11 pups born in a litter which contained 8 boys. So, naturally, I had a tough choice in choosing him. Since his birth, the heart marking was there but I did not think that it would always remain as the spots of Dalmatians change as they grow up. The main reason I chose him to be my family was that breeder told me that all Wiley did was eat, sleep, snuggle and cuddle. He had that common with me so that is why I chose him.”
Well, now 1 year has passed and Wiley is not a sleepy pup that he once used to be, said the 26 years old Smith. She said, “Wiley actually ahs a lot more personality all snuggled up in his little body that I had ever seen in other dogs.”
Luckily for both Wiley and Smith, they live in a neighborhood, where Wiley is able to release some of his energy.
Smith told media that hiking is one of Wiley’s favorite activities. She further said, “We are so lucky to be living in Colorado where there are some of the most beautiful places in the whole States. It is a fun theme park for dogs like Wiley where he can play and explore to his heart’s content. He loves hiking so much. In addition to that, he also loves to visit the massive dog parks in the city.
He likes to sit on the forint seat of the car and likes long drives. He tends to look out f the window like a true copilot. But what I love most about him is that once he is sleepy, he likes to snuggle really much.
Wiley has such a nice personality; at times he can be quite stubborn, which is a common personality trait in Dalmatians.
Smith says, “Some of Wiley’s true Dalmatians traits often make me laugh hard at him. Usually I just giggle with shaking my head or laughing off his stubbornness in frustration. However, you have got to live with these cons of this breed of dogs. If you cannot laugh at their stubbornness or train them out of their naught breed traits, then life with a Dalmatian can be a pretty challenging one and it is not a pretty sight.”
As for Smith, she says, “I would never trade Wiley’s stubbornness for anything in this world. I have been so lucky with Wiley. He has the best heart out of all the dogs in the world and I am not just talking about the heart on his nose. He loves t meet new people and dogs and is always excited to make some new friends. He has been so easy to train and is also the best little adventurer that anyone can ask for. While all of this is true, he still demands a lot of attention and practically stays attach to my hips but this is what I love most about him.”
Smith, the Colorado native is not the only one who appreciates the specialness of Wiley. Thanks to his over grown internet fame, Wiley is being noticed on the streets every time he goes for a walk.
Smith says, “Most people notice him as that dog from the internet while others notice him as the heart nose dog but mostly people are only shocked to see a Dalmatian dog. Most people after saying Wiley say, ‘I haven’t seen a Dalmatian in so long’ or ‘I have not seen a Dalmatian in person ever’.
Smith shared the world of Social media with Wiley due to her passion for photography other than her love for dogs. She says, “Photography ahs something that I have always had a passion about and I experimented with. Now suddenly I have an adorable puppy that is the perfect model. I do have a perusal account but id decided to create an individual one just for Wiley to store all of his photos and keep a running timeline of his life.”
“This thing only started for me and my friends to see him grow up and keep the memories of us in every moment of life. But when the account hit the 5000 followers mark I was like ‘Wow’. Now his account is growing with pace. This has been a fun little adventure for us for sure.”
