Jake, the dog was only 3 weeks old when he was trapped in a burning shed. He was saved by the local firefighter named Bill Lindler. The pup during this rescue had already suffered burn marks over 75 percent of his body, which included his paw pads too. Soon the dog was left abandoned at a local shelter when his owners could not afford the vet’s bill. Luckily, for this cute pup, the same firefighter who once saved him decided to adopt this pup as his own, when he was made aware of its plight.
Now, this dog who is surrounded by the loving people at the Hanahan Fire Department where he recovered very quickly. Jake is now the official mascot of the fire department. He visits schools to help kids learn about fire safety and also teach them as to what to do in case of emergencies.
Jake has his own badge too. Lindler told media that, “I planned initially to use Jake as a therapy dog. However, we have decided to change gears and train him to be an Arson Detection Dog.”

His neighbors were yelling that puppy was trapped in the fire
Lindler says I ran back into the house to grab some firefighter gears

Lindler after few weeks called the vet who told him that the family abandoned him
The family was not able to cover for the treatment fees
That’s when Lindler and his family decided to adopt the dog as their own
Now this dog is surrounded by the loving people at the Hanahan Fire Department where he recovered very quickly
Lately, he has become the official member of the Hanahan Fire Department
