Lambert was rescued by Vicky Keahey back in June of 2014 and at that time looked to him a little puppy than a might lion that he is today. He was illegally purchased by a family who did not wanted him anymore in their home anymore and he was poorly treated there. He was in immediate need of rescuing. Keahey was more than happy to take in this little lion cub to their rescue titled “in-Sync Exotics”.
Keahey’s media director; Angela Culver told media reporters that, “Lambert’s previous owners purchased him illegally. The family children wanted their own little Simba after they watched the Lion King. After a short time family could keep him no more so they contacted us asking if perhaps we could take him and we were of course happy to take him in”.
Keahey told media that Lambert used to sleep in bed with grandfather of the family so they got him a blanket. We placed the blanket in one corner of the enclosure. He curled up in the blanket and went to sleep right away. Ever since then he is to be given a blanket for sleeping.”
Now Lambert is two years old but is still unable to live in the wild and Keahey takes care of him. Lambert is given a space of 7000 square feet to roam around that includes a den area for purposes of providing shade and protection. He also has a pool to play in. Like any 2 years old lion, he is active and playful and has a bit of cattitude.
