We are sure that almost every one of you out there must have heard of a saying in Swahili “Hakuna Matata” which means “No Worries”. This famed phrase has been inspired and used in the famed Disney movie “The Lion King”. Well, this phrase has not only inspired the Disney creators but also a photographer from Paris. The name of this photographer is Thomas Subtil who created his own photo series depicting life without a worry in the world.
The project for Thomas started back in 2013 when traveled to Kenya and saw a completely different world. This was a world where elephants were balancing themselves meticulously on a tight rope on one leg, where Giraffes were sued to hang washed clothes and Zebras flew. Subtil used this vast experience of his time in Africa to create a splendid phantasmagoria.
The photo series has been titled by Thomas Subtil as the “the real life of African wild animals”. Well, at least this is how artists think that animals behave when people are not watching them. In order to give these imaginative realities a form, he manipulated these pictures of common African animals digitally.
In addition o this work, Subtil has also created another photo series by the name “Animetro”. This series depicts the life of various wild animals discovering the Paris metro for the first time. Animals at the metro wait like ordinary people and also try to find their places at the underground moving metal box. The artist has also recently launched his series “Hakuna Matata 2” and “Colored”.
Today for our readers, we have gathered some of the amazing work of Thomas Subtil; an artist uses digital manipulation to show how animals act when people are not watching
