A woman named Gintarė Bertauskienė had dreamt about owning a dog of breed Komondor while she lived in Kaunas, Lithuania for the better part of her life. When she was only a little girl, she received a postcard that had a picture of this beautiful dog breed and she has kept that picture with her over the years. But now it was finally time for her to get her own Komondor dog as she is now a proud owner of a Komondor dog named Hanga. Hanga is one of the 2 Mop Dogs in the country of Lithuania.
Whenever people see Hanga, the first thing they notice is the unusual fur as only a few of the dog breeds have dreadlocks for hairs. The proper term for the dreadlocks of dogs is known as Mats, Flocks, and Cords. However, Hanga does need to concern about her grooming because her owner herself is a professional pet groomer.
Hanga suddenly became a sensation over social media after one of her videos of swimming in a lake was uploaded by LADbible. Her video has received 19 million views so far and the owner got to make some money off of Hang’s fame. The money earned by her owner has been used for Hanga’s surgery.
Whenever Hanga goes out on the street with her owner, she gets a lot of attention from people who always ask her owner to allow them to take selfies with Hanga. As for Hanga she is very protective and is often wary of the strangers. If there are many of them around her, she gets tensed.

As far as training of the Komondor breed’s dog is concerned, it is to be taken really serious considering their size, speed, power, and their behavior. If there is a lack of obedience by the Komondor dog, it can be really dangerous. Thankfully, these dogs are really intelligent and learn things very quickly especially if there training is started when they are only 4 months old.

When a Komondor dog is born, it does not have any dreadlocks as a pup. Instead, they get born with short and a white-colored coat which then gradually grows into fluffy curls.
When a Komondor dog is about 1 year old, their curls start to from matted patches and this is when human intervention is required to sort them out. As the dog reaches age 5, their coat is grown out fully.
