Animal rescue groups often get to see strange incidents where animals have gotten themselves entangled in some sticky situations. For example, take the rat that got stuck during the winter in a sewer gate and could not squeeze herself out. Luckily for the rat, some kind-hearted people arrived on the scene to help this urban fat rodent free.
The incident took place earlier this month when two girls heard some loud squeaking noises coming from a nearby sewer. Arriving near the source of screaming, they came upon a fat rat that was completely stuck in the gate.
Girls rushed home to their families who then called for the local animal rescue organization named “Berufstierrettung Rhein Neckar”. This incident took place in Germany where this organization operates. After coming to the scene, the organization found out that they also would not be able to get the rat out of this predicament without proper tools. The only solution they had at that time was to call for the Fire Department.
While most people around the world consider rats as a pest problem and would not help to save their life, the whole fire department arrived on the scene on moment’s notice.
The professionals of the fire department were able to rescue the rat without injuring it. The rat was again released back into the sewers and we hope that she just won’t get stuck again.
After the whole rescue operation was done, the two girls met with the fire department and thanked them for rescuing the rat. They also extended their thanks by giving the fire department a picture of an adorable rat they drew themselves.
