According to a survey, normally 50000 kids get bitten by a pet dog every year in countries across the world. Even though these results themselves are very frightening, we must also look into the otter breeds that will most likely attack the kids. We also must look for other pets that can be unsafe to keep in a house with kids. Turtles
Back in 2018, a 3-week old baby died off salmonella after it came in contact with a pet turtle in house. 11 other cases also came forward of the newborns who were affected by the same strain.
Turtles are the cause of many salmonella-related deaths throughout the world. Kids and babies must not come in contact with the turtles because they are at an increased risk of contracting salmonella.
Ferrets
While ferrets are cleaner than most pet animals but for them to remain clean but there must be many litter boxes spread around the house. With a kid in the house, they are eventually bound to play in those litter boxes and get something contagious.
Ferrets are also sensitive to high pitch noises like the baby’s cry that can agitate them. Ferrets have been known for attacking and hurting babies.
Chow Chow dogs
Chow Chow dogs might seem very cute but they actually have a lot of temperament issues. They can be easily agitated and provoked if a person invades their personal space.
If a kid pokes them or pulls on their fur, they will bite the kid without any hesitation. The thing to note here is that the temperament of the Chow Chow dog breed cannot be trained.
Lizards
Lizards have the same danger level for kids as the turtles. The main threat from lizards is also Salmonella. A kid can get salmonella even after touching a lizard.
Frogs
According to the guidelines of CDC, frogs are another cause of salmonella. Children under the age of ten years old can be affected with salmonella after they touch a frog. Frog also carry a salmonella strain which is actually extremely easy for humans to catch; especially the kids.
Chihuahua dogs
While Chihuahuas seem cute, they are also feisty and noisy dog breed. They do not like to be poked which is what a small kid would do to them.
If a kid pokes them, they get extremely aggressive and will bite the kid.
Dalmatian dogs
The one word to better describe Dalmatians would be “Temperamental”. They are not the most social dog breeds out of all. They cannot b trained properly and if a kid pokes them or even pet them, they will bite the kid.
To make a Dalmatian act properly around a kid, they must be exposed to children when they are still puppies.
