Stealing is not a good habit unless it’s a cat and more ideally your now cat. If that is the case, then it is perfectly normal. We are all aware that cats love to steal stuff mostly food, from time to time. While these nifty little thieves often steal things, they also like to give back gifts to their owners as well.
As for a cat named Max, he took this whole gift-giving ritual to another extreme. Instead of bringing his owner ordinary cat things like mice or birds, he decided to gift his owner with a stolen newspaper.
This is Max; a cat from New Zealand, who like to steal newspapers from neighbors, just for fun.
Maxi is a 10 years old kitten from Wainuiomata, New Zealand. His owner told media, “We got him from a pet shop that was closing down. The kittens were actually kept outside the shop in a boot. When we got him, he was pretty much a wild animal.” His owner, Jade Jefferies said, “When I got him, I spent nearly 2 weeks just to sit with him in the same bedroom. I was trying to get his familiarized with people and stuff as he was pretty much feral at that time.”
One day suddenly, Jade Jefferies, Max’s owner started receiving newspapers on her porch that she did not have a subscription to.
Max’s owner said that newspapers were delivered several times a week but she had no idea as to who this paperboy was.
The paper did have little teeth marks on them so naturally, her prime suspect was Max.
After notching these marks, Jade started suspecting Max more and more.
Jade said, “I always had a feeling that it was Max”.
On Tuesday she called her son and watched from the window as they finally saw the thieve in action. Max’s owner saw him leisurely walking from their neighbor’s property with their newspaper in his mouth.
