Exotic pets which are cheap to own

Whenever you think of taking in a pet animal, price is something that you just consider first hand. The price of exotic pets are generally very varying as they can be in between price of 5 dollars to several thousand dollars and sometimes even more so.

There are conventional exotic pets that are cheap and easy to buy as compared to the ones that range in figures of four or five. These cheap animals still require at least 100 dollars worth of supplies to take care of them adequately after taking them out of their natural habitat. For our readers we have gathered a list of some exotic animals that are cheap to buy and even cheap to take care of properly. The list is as follows.

Green Iguana:-

Green Iguana is one of the most commonly bought exotic pets because it is also cheap to own. They can be bought from any local pet store for a price rage in-between 15 to 25 dollars. They might be cheap to own but as far as their upbringing is concerned they do require five times their purchase price and sometimes even more. Iguanas need fresh vegetable for sustenance and a large enclosure lined with UVA lighting.

Degu:-

Degu are similar to gerbils in shape and they are also very cheap to buy. They can be purchased from your local pet store for a price in between 5 to 10 dollars. These rodents are able to reproduce prolifically and often end up in animal shelters. As a plus side their upbringing cost is also not that high. They almost cost similar to the rat care price.

Budgerigar:-

Budgerigar are common little exotic parrots that can be found anywhere in world. They cost in price range of 10 to 35 dollars. These parrots are very social in nature and people often neglect the care they require and that leads to their short lives in confinement. They also require large enclosure space and even the stores that sell these parrots and their cages are often too small.

Red Fox:-

This rare exotic carnivore is very cheap to buy as it cost only in between price range of 200 to 300 dollars. All the other exotic fox species nearly cost a price upward of 2000 dollars. The only problem owning them is that they are not permissible in some stat of US and also they require a very large outdoor pen.

Skunk:-

Skunk, the exotic mammal can be purchased in a price range of 250 to 4000 dollars. Skunks are domesticated species and can be found in various colors. Their upbringing cost is also not that high and they can be raised similar to ferrets or Fennec foxes.
